Sky Islands Survival – Exploring More Rare Islands

In my last post on the Sky Island Survival Series, I talked about exploring new islands, finding a jungle biome and bringing home Jungle saplings for more variety of wood. We also found a desert island which had a piece of sugarcane growing on it. Later, we found a trading merchant and bought the cherry sapling from him.
We tried to kidnap him along with his Llamas, but he despawned, leaving us with just one cherry sapling. We grew that cherry on our island, and it looked so good. Cherry trees are one of the best tree types added to the game. Their pink wood planks give more variety to the building aspect of this game, not that I care about that part too much.
Anyway, we were not done exploring yet. There was a floating island not too far from the desert-themed island.

This one was one of the new biomes in the game, the Pale Garden biome. I had never been to one of these biomes before in the normal world. They are a recent addition and seem to be as rare as the Cherry biome, if not more.

A lot of mobs were spawned on this island, so we had to wait for the sunrise to start bridging there and explore it. It looked bigger than many other islands we had already explored.
We fought the remaining mobs in the day, some of them were too stubborn to die in the daylight lol.

Beril knew more about this biome than me. She was excited to find it and started collecting all the flowers while I was trying not to die from angry skeletons. These dead flowers were glowing at night. I had never seen those before. Sometimes I feel like Minecraft has changed too much over the last couple of years. But I am not complaining, one of the things that makes this game very successful is its content and how many things you can do here without getting bored.

Each island seems to have a small cave with plenty of ores. Even those ores which are not normally found in these biomes. Almost all the islands had some emerald ores, multiple iron and one or two diamonds.

Once we had collected all the stuff from here and safely stored it in our home island. We came back here so we can keep going forward and make a bridge over the void in hopes of finding another island.
We didn't have to make a long bridge before we saw another interesting island.

This one was a Mangrove Swamp biome with a lot of mangrove trees. This is a new biome that I am not very familiar with. The trees here don't drop saplings, but you take those blue glowing things and plant them. The ground was filled with water.
There was an underground cave on this island as well. We could hear the weird noises of zombies coming from down.

We thought there was a spawner here, but no, there were only a few pieces of cobwebs with no spider spawner that is usually found in the mineshafts. There were a lot of useful ores in that little cave. We made sure to get all of it before coming back.
There were no other islands close to this mangrove swamp, so we had to come back and go to another island to see if there were any more left, or we ran out of islands in the overworld.

When we were bridging from the jungle island, we saw a wild cat spawning there. I don't know what that's called, but you can't tame it. Even after we fed some fish, it still didn't become a pet.
We found an ice biome after a long time. We were losing hope of finding any other island. But the icy spikes biome is not that exciting. We could just collect some snowballs from this biome and nothing else. We were still looking for a silk touch book or a pickaxe with that enchantment to get some of the ice from there and make fast highways from one island to the next. That would be cool, I guess.

Thankfully, it had a cave with more resources. The surface was almost useless to us, but that small cave was much appreciated. We had a snowball fight there for a while. It was fun to play with it.

That's it for this episode. We still have a few more islands to explore and then go to the dangerous Nether to see if we can find a fortress.
Thanks for reading.

What an amazing adventure, my friend! Traveling around the islands is quite a challenge.
Thank you, dude. We are always stressed out about falling into the void lol.
Hehehe to everyone, hehehe
I've been really wanting to try this game ever since the movie came out. Cheers!
Btw, the Minecraft community collectively hate that movie haha
I’m amazed at all the rare biomes you have found. That Cherry tree island sounds so cool 😯 Ah! I'm craving for the game again.
