No Man’s Sky Is Still Evolving

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

There are a few games that are still massively popular after being launched almost a decade ago, especially multiplayer games. But Hello Games has been doing a lot of great things for No Man's Sky. Even though I hadn't played it in more than a year, I kept following its updates, and each one sounded more massive than the last.

It is one of those games which keeps getting better, so I had to see what these changes feel like. I could notice a lot of changes quickly. One of the best ones for me is the visual changes. Entering the atmosphere of a planet feels much better with the new volumetric clouds update. It is so much better than the old flat-looking clouds. Now, you can fly through those clouds and experience the dynamic weather. It made the sky look better as well.

I always loved flying over the planet's surface in my starship while searching for buildings and interesting outposts. That activity becomes more fun now.

This time, I wanted to learn more words and communicate better with the alien lifeforms in the game. Sadly, I had been ignoring this for a long time. This part of the game can be a little repetitive. I think this can be fixed with an update.

Corvettes - The Best Change

One of the most famous changes to the game came out with the Voyagers update, when they introduced corvettes, which are fully customizable starships that act as a mobile base and can be much larger than normal ships, fully roamable inside with your friends and give you a lot of cool features like refiners, mission control room, storage, etc.

There are so many cool things you can do with them. One of them is skydiving. You can just open the back hatch and jump out of your Corvette to free-fall on the surface. Jetpack is very useful for landing safely. But if you do it out of the atmosphere, you can spacewalk.

This is such a game-changing update that brings a lot of quality-of-life changes. Now, we can have a lot of storage on the go, take multiple players in one Corvette to do missions together.

I had to check it out. The shipbuilding part wasn't too confusing, either. There were a lot of customizable parts that were just for visuals.

Another change that I noticed while playing the game is the improved underwater experience. I don't know for sure if there was a recent update about it, but somehow the water looks better with a lot more stuff in it. The visuals look better and seem to have more biomes than before. Or I might have found a really good planet for it.

But one that is an update to the old one is the fishing system. We can set up autonomous fishing units over water. I am not a fan of fishing in a space game, but those are used in multiple new recipes, and I know that the game has hundreds of cooking recipes and a community trying to unlock all of them.

Another thing that seems to have changed is the addition of new models of starships. There are so many new ships that I have never encountered before. I loved this birdie.

No Man's Sky is becoming a perfect space game. There are so many things to do in the game, from fishing to managing a frigate fleet and everything in between. The seamless transition from space to landing on a planet without any loading screen is such a huge deal. The best part is that they keep adding massive updates that keep making it better every day. I wonder what it will look like in another decade?

I will end my post by sharing the first triple-star system that I found. This has to be very rare. I wish this system also had a ringed planet to take some nice shots. But I am happy with this one.

Thanks for reading...

Until next time...

A buddy of mine was talking to me about this the other day and was saying how much it has improved since the rather disastrous launch however many years ago it was. I thought about getting into it but to me it seems like a game that never ends and I don't know if I want to get involved in something like that. Is there a central quest or is it totally sandbox, do whatever you want, exploration sort of thing?

There is a main questline, and I kinda ignored it for a long time. Or got distracted by the other stuff. Now, I am doing it. The early parts are basically tutorials and guides which help you explore more and stuff. But I heard it gets good later.
