Hunting the King of the Jungle!
Hello and welcome back to my blog!

In this episode of theHunter: Call of the Wild, we are back at one of the classic maps, the Vurhonga Savanna. I had been hunting in snowy, hilly terrain for a long time. Although I love those maps, it was getting a bit boring, so to change the view and the hunting conditions, I switched to this African map.
Sheru liked it better here as well. He was much more energetic today.
The biggest hunting challenge in this reserve is lions. They like to hunt here, but today they were going to face the apex hunter, us. I knew about their drinking time around two major lakes and decided to search for them there.
I have already set up multiple hunting stands there, but there was no activity around the lake today. I went to another lake but found no one there either. Did one of the recent patches change the timings on this map?
I left that plan and started wandering aimlessly. I was a bit late spotting the Blue Wildebeest. It was already running away.
But a gemsbok was not that lucky. I spotted it quickly, and it was already spooked. Taking a shot at a running animal is not easy, but I did not miss the left lung and got this beauty.
I saw a few hares too. I carry a handgun to take down these smaller animals, and I managed to get one of them. The rest of them ran away.
I did not see anyone for a while after this. This reserve usually has a good population of animals, but today it seemed that they were extra sneaky. I am using minimal UI as well, so it becomes tougher.
I saw another small group of gemsbok. The biggest male from the herd sensed me easily, but it could not run fast enough.
Their large, pointed, curved horns are so unique and look beautiful. This one was just a Silver. I took down another one later, which was a female.
I reached a small cliff, and there was a big pile of rocks on top of it, which contained a piece of information about the site, lore about this map. It talked about an ancient method of healing through the spirit in African culture.
Have you seen the outposts in this place? Nothing fancy, but it looks nice. It would be better if the white container were not so distracting. A darker colour would be a better choice here.
I was just roaming around the plains searching for animals when I heard a roar. That meant a lion was nearby, and it probably already knew about my presence. I looked through my binoculars frantically and saw a big male lion walking away from me.
They attack only when you get too close to them. Otherwise, their first choice is to run away. As I was trying to shoot it with my 7mm rifle, it ran behind the trees.
This started a chase, a hunter chasing a fierce predator. It took me about ten minutes to take him down.
But it was well worth it. Look at the size of this one. Sadly, this big male did not give us a Gold trophy, just a Silver.
It seemed like today we were after gemsbok, and they were all around us. The next one I shot was another gemsbok. This one was the biggest male of today, weighing over 200 kg.
Sheru and I were happy to take down the king of the jungle. This is what I came here for. To remember this achievement, I took a nice shot of the reserve with Sheru. He was waiting patiently as I adjusted my position to take that perfect picture.

I'm still upset about losing all my progress in the game, but I miss hunting so much that I'll reinstall the game and start from scratch.
Good hunting, my bro, beautiful catches as always.
How did you lose your progress though?

Come get MOONed!
There's nothing better than hunting prey near watering holes, and my sincere respect for that shot on the move—now that's a challenge! Ha ha, it's difficult enough when they're standing still.
That shot was just a lucky one lol. Thanks
