Evil West brings me back to a time when linear singleplayer games thrived

This game just keeps getting better and better 🤠⚡️🧛🏻‍♂️

As I played the first couple of hours of Evil West, I thought it was pretty cool. It wasn't quite as fun as I was expecting, but still a pretty solid game. I was juggling about 5 or 6 other games, so it was taking me quite a while to progress further into Evil West. I'm very happy that I've taken the time to keep playing this one.

As you make your way through the story, you are constantly unlocking valuable new upgrades to the combat system. You have a few options to start, but it's just a teaser for all of the badass stuff you'll have access to eventually. By the time you reach the halfway point in the story, you are loaded with powerful abilities that give you many options for how you wish to tackle your vampiric adversaries.

Now to focus on the title of this video. Evil West seriously makes me feel like I'm stepping back into time. There just aren't as many linear single-player games as there used to be. The ones that do exist tend to be pretty boring usually. That certainly is not the case with Evil West.

There may not be a huge open world to explore, but there still are usually a couple of paths throughout each mission. Most of the time one of them takes you forward and the other will lead you to some sort of treasure or optional boss battle. I have been sure to explore every inch of each level so that I don't miss out on any surprises. There is so much exploration, but not so much that you are overwhelmed with what to do. It's just really nice to be able to play a game and not have to think super hard about navigating a gigantic map or wasting time riding a mount from here to there.

I could continue to talk about why Evil West is a blessing for lovers of old-school linear single-player experiences, but I think it would be best for me to just show you. Today's video will do just that and then some. As always, I have plenty of commentary to go along with the gameplay. I hope you enjoy this one and maybe it will help you understand why Evil West is such a fun video game.

Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

You may be thinking of Westworld. Evil West is something else entirely.

The childhood days of split screen madness are truly some of the best memories.

Just watched parts of your gameplay video and I actually loved it. It's a good game I'd say. The upgrade system sounds great, especially with the variety of abilities you mentioned and I liked your commentary as well.

It's a pretty simple game, yet has its own intricacies. It's great for some good old fashioned fun and a tiresome challenge is available with higher difficulties.
