Call of Duty MWIII campaign gameplay and first impressions
Nothing can save you from yourself 💀🔫
If you haven't been keeping up with the Call of Duty news, then you may not be aware that 2023's MWIII has the worst-reviewed campaign of any COD game. The only game's campaign that was worse than this one is Black Ops IV, but that's simply because that game didn't even have a single-player campaign.
The main issue people are having with the new MWIII campaign is the open combat missions, which take up 50% of the very short 5-hour campaign. It's in these open combat missions that you are given the freedom to explore an open world and complete your objectives in the order that you choose. The thing is, it feels like you're just playing Warzone with all AI, it's not what people were asking for in the least bit.
Most people play COD for the multiplayer, but there are still some who enjoy the action-packed stories that most Call of Duty games offer gamers. I went into MWIII with very low expectations and I was still underwhelmed by it. There just wasn't anything about me that hooked me.
The one positive thing I can say about the campaign is that the graphics, sound, and gunplay are the best they've been in COD. The thing is, you can experience all of that in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone. There just isn't anything that distinguishes a reason why anybody would actually take the time to complete the campaign this year. They of course locked certain cosmetic unlocks to campaign completion, so they must have known that nobody would be wanting to play it this year.
I blame all of this on the fact that the developers at Sledgehammer only had 1.5 years to create MWIII, while most COD titles allow developers 3 full years. The reason for this is that MWIII was originally supposed to be DLC for MWII, which it pretty much exactly that. They just slapped a full $70 price tag on it and are trying to call it a new game. It's not. That doesn't mean you can't still have some fun with it, but this unfair transaction leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
I do have a solid gameplay video of me playing the first missions of the MWIII campaign. You may notice that I don't get overly hyped one time throughout the whole video. That's a major red flag that something is wrong. Thankfully, the multiplayer is a lot of fun. Stay tuned because I will have a blog and video focusing on the multiplayer aspects of MWIII in the coming days.
Thanks for watching and be sure to drop any comments you may have down below, I will get back to everyone.

I agree! Maybe this limited development time could be the reason for the campaign's lack of depth and underwhelming content.
The good news is that the next Call of Duty (most likely Black Ops Gulf War according to rumors) had the longest time for development of any recent COD game. I think an article said that Treyarch will end up with 4 full years developing this one.
A game that is loved for the first time must have some special features in it, so I will definitely play it.
