Hades: A Plethora of Greek Mythology

With the Switch 2's arrival approaching, is it any wonder that I just so happened to be brushing up on Hades right before the sequel? ๐Ÿ™

I had originally heard great things about the game, and I found its use of Greek mythology to be incredibly alluring. Despite the fact I am not a huge top-down gamer, I find Hades to be a glowing exception for me~ ๐Ÿ˜Š

So if you are unfamiliar, Hades is a game where you play as the character, Zagreus. Your only mission is to escape from Hades' Underworld. Along the way, you will encounter the Gods of Olympus who will offer you their assistance in escaping. Will you be able to complete the task?...

(Nearly 30 attempts later and I still have not made it out of the Underworld! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ That being said, I would really appreciate the refrain from spoilers -- I want the final ending to remain a mystery ๐Ÿ™)

(The very first exchange between father and son :') Can you feel the tension?!)

Anyway, my weapon of choice has become the Twin Fists of Malphon. I have tried my hand at every weapon, but the Fists are my bread and butter, possibly second only to the Stygian Blade. I have managed to clear as far as the final boss fight with Hades, and I know that the day will come when I will be victorious โœŠ

This is the beauty of Hades -- it is a game of endless possibilities! There are so many gods and allies offering to give you a hand, each with their own unique gifts. So while the possibilities may be endless, it will require strategy to perfect.

For example, some of my favorite gods are Poseidon, Athena, Artemis, and Chaos; I am able to use their gifts to their full potential. Zeus and Hermes are okay. I find Dionysus and Aphrodite to be useless ๐Ÿ™„

Then, ultimately, there is luck! ๐Ÿ€ Each god will only provide 3 gifts to choose from, some of which can be Rare or Epic -- or neither ๐Ÿ˜… Every "run" through the Underworld will always be uniquely different; it's what makes Hades so intriguing...

Aside from the gameplay, what else can be said? Well, the art style is gorgeous. The characters are humorous and unique! The voice acting is lovely. There is even the ability to build relationships with characters -- including the gods! ๐Ÿ˜„ Give them the Nectar of the Gods and characters will reward you with helpful trinkets that can aid you in your journey(s).

That is it for my review, thus far! ๐Ÿ˜„ The next time that I post an update, it will be after finally defeating Hades after all of these tries! ๐Ÿ˜ต In the meantime, please wish me luck... Happy Easter, and happy gaming! ๐ŸŽฎ
