AI gets brutal

I was lurking around in threads yesterday and came across a "roast of @leofinance "
... @simplegame & @moeknows were chatting about Grok's "Asshole Mode" and @moeknows treated us to this little gem:

Of Course I had to try it myself

At first I gave them just a very basic "Who is BraaiBoy" prompt, and then I asked them to give me the same answer, but pretend they were assholes.

I don't use AI enough in my daily life just yet, and the basic translations, menu lookups, recipe costings etc etc are all good enough on their respective free versions... but this (hurtful, and not entirely inaccurate) roast... along with very flattering "who is" search prompted me to want to explore a bit more... For now I'm content with whatever the free versions of whatever AI Add-On whatever app I'm using is offering... but I can't help feeling that I'm missing the boat on some gems.

SO: Shill me your (paid or unpaid) AI apps that have been life changing, and especially if it's going to make the life of a "BraaiMaster" (BBQ guy) easier.

I have access to many different ai at the moment, due to my work, and I am often comparing them. For me, OpenAI’s ChatGpT works best. I use it for many things, work related and other. I use it to prepare photo shoots, help me edit or choose photos, key wording, debug code, write documentation,…

Yeah, I'm going to have to start playing with it a lot more and uncover it's REAL uses beyond just a glorified search engine.

But well, better late then never, right! ;-)
Yup, I'm using the paid version, and it has earned me waaaaay more than it has cost me already. And to be honest, up until it included the "search engine" option recently, I rarely used it like that (due to not always being sure how correct it was, which is often: not really :-) )

hmmmm... gonna have to do some digging. I have to admit though, I spend most of of time on PeakD Snaps vs inLeo Threads... so I might be missing a lot of the beef

  • In my experience, PeakD is just a LOT more user-friendly than inLeo... and inLeo is basically unusable on mobile. There I have to say I use Ecency 99% of the time to browse when on mobile.

Anyway, thanks for the prompt... gonna go digging for the gossip ;-)

Looked at AI claptrap a couple of times, find it KAK when historical figures where never depicted correctly. Did not waste too much time until an actual use is found why waste precious time.

Be real to oneself, AI is not a turn-on!

Fair enough... But there are many (basic) real uses for AI. Real-Time translating menus come in VERY handy recently on a trip to Germany. And I use ChatGPT a lot to help me estimate ingredient costs/quantities before quoting on a catering event.

but yeah, I don't see AI "taking over" (just yet).

I use Translator for foreign languages on the desktop, only offer original human content which a braai is all about and recipes!

When monetizing a site, realize there are many in's and out's you have to be aware of, it's a pain in the butt....

What people are calling "AI" is certainly a helpful tool and a lot of fun.
It will be interesting to see how it all develops into the future.

Yeah, I think we're still a "long way off" from Hollywood's AI... but 20 years ago we were already talking about and even "working on AI", and back then even generative AI was still just a fantasy, and now in the last 2 years it's grown in leaps and bounds.

Today sentient AI is (cue conspiracy theories) just a fantasy, who knows we're we'll be in 20 years from now.

... and are you still training, or have you started using it? Closest I've come it to ask ChatGPT to rewrite sections of my blog post in Active voice, when I get SEO warnings that I'm using too much passive voice. To be honest I'm still not even sure what active VS passive voice even IS. ... so in a sense I'm using AI to train ME !LOLZ
