250th Anniversary of Paul Revere's Ride Silver Round

My countrymen and women know about Paul Revere, and the importance of what he did for America (although some are absolutely clueless).

PaulRevere.jpg

On the night of April 18, 1775, Paul Revere, a silversmith from Boston, rode his horse throughout the countryside to warn people that British soldiers were coming. His ride helped start a series of events that led to the American Revolution and is remembered as one of the bravest moves in American history.

One night. One ride. A warning that changed history.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807 - 1882) told about Paul Revere's Ride, adding a few embellishments, sure... but the heart of it stayed true.

Paul Revere was part of a network of patriots who planned signals and routes in advance. That night, he arranged for two lanterns to shine from the Old North Church steeple, one if the British came by land, two if by sea. Two lamps indicated that the British were crossing the river.

Paul Revere quietly rowed across the Charles River, then mounted his horse and galloped through towns like Charlestown, Medford, and Arlington, waking up people and alerting local militias. He was not alone. William Dawes and Dr Samuel Prescott also helped him. Although Revere was eventually stopped by British soldiers, Prescott escaped and reached Concord, finishing the mission.

Round Highlights:
Contains 1 oz of .999 fine Silver.
Each round comes in protective packaging. Multiples of 20 come in plastic tubes.
Obverse: Features an epic depiction of Paul Revere on horseback, lantern in hand, riding under moonlight to warn fellow colonists of the approaching British forces. Circumscribed are the words "The Ride of Paul Revere" atop the round with "250th Anniversary" at the bottom. This beautiful design was created by celebrated coin designer Joel Iskowitz.
Reverse: Displays a circle and stars around the assay information with surrounding wedge shaped scenes depicting major moments pertaining to Paul Revere's mission. From the lower left side with the North Bridge and clockwise follows Minute Man, Old North Church, Charles River Crossing, Hancock-Clarke House and finally the Capture of Revere.

Sweet coin. Amazing to look at history, and think "what if". After the British lost the colonies, the empire essentially began to crumble. Upper Canada, then India and South Afrika. Zimbabwe Australia all got independence in some way. I bet we'd all still be Britain if it weren't for men like him. Well, i mean we kinda still are a bit British-ish.

You will always be a bit British, and be proud of it. And Canada can walk away from the Commonwealth tomorrow and still be Canada: strong, sovereign, and self-governing!

When I hear the name Revere I think cookware rather than the heroic messenger. That is because I grew up using my parent's pans, pots an utensils, cookware. A name forever remembered in my youth as the maker of America's cookware besides supplying copper cladding for the US Navy's mighty fighting ships.

Always, with !LUV 🤗🌺❤️

Some of his cookware he personally made goes for insane amounts of money. The stuff from his son not as much but still valuable.

That's interesting that you remember Revere pots and pans as a child, I honestly don't, but my memory is far from ideal these days...

I don't think they are THAT old. I believe my new old pot is originally from my Grandma who lived in Seattle for a while back in the 1980s, not 1780s.

Yes, Revere cookware does have a direct historical connection to the Paul Revere—the famed American patriot known for his midnight ride. But beyond his revolutionary legacy, Revere was also a master silversmith and entrepreneur.
🛠️ The Origin Story In 1801, Paul Revere founded the Revere Copper Company in Canton, Massachusetts. Initially focused on copper sheeting for naval ships and other industrial uses, the company laid the foundation for what would eventually become Revere Ware.
🍳 Birth of Revere Ware Fast forward to the 1930s: the Revere Copper Company expanded into consumer goods and launched Revere Ware cookware in 1939. This line became iconic for its stainless steel bodies with copper-clad bottoms, combining durability with excellent heat conductivity2.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Legacy in the Kitchen Revere Ware became a staple in American kitchens for decades, known for its sleek design and practical features like heat-resistant handles and tight-fitting lids. Many families still treasure their vintage pieces, passing them down like heirlooms.
So yes—every time you cook with Revere Ware, you're stirring a little bit of Revolutionary history into your meal.

A gesture that secured his name as part of humanity's historical record. He could have simply done nothing, but he did what he considered right at the time.

This action makes us reflect: our actions define who we are and how we can contribute to humanity. Some will never be remembered, while others will never be forgotten.
