The U.S. Mint has embarked on an unconventional Comic Art Coin and Medal Program. It is a celeration of comic art as a distinctive American art form.
The center of the trifold holds the coin. The specifications of the coin are indicated: 99.9% fine silver, 40.50 MM, as well as the weight, the type of edge and finish. At the back is the number of the coin design (1) in the series of Comic Art (9).
2025 Comic Art and Medal Program: #1 - SUPERMAN
Obverse:
This design depicts Superman™ flying over his family farm. The Sun not only nurtures the farmland where a young Clark Kent™ was raised by his adoptive parents, it is also the primary source that fuels his incredible powers. Even so, it is the love, values, and inner strength instilled in him by Martha and Jonathan—Ma and Pa Kent—that ultimately made him a Super Hero. The inscription is “LIBERTY.”
Reverse:
This design explores the duality of identity inherent in the story of Superman™ and the concept of “the hero within.” Clark Kent™ is shown as a young adult, deep in thought as he watches a plane fly overhead. Although still young, Clark is mature enough to be aware of his capabilities and to contemplate what is possible. His father, Pa Kent, looks on in the distance and knows it is only a matter of time before Clark leaves home to fulfill his destiny. Inscriptions are “SUPERMAN” and “HOPE AND STRENGTH.”
The descriptions of the coin are taken from the material that came with the coin.
America's Comic Art Coin and Medals Program is in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The multi-year collectible will feature the DC Super Heroes on official American coins and medals—honoring the heroic ideals and American values these characters embody.
Original designs were crafted by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver, Joseph Menna, a former DC artist, now merging his comic art expertise with the artistry of American coinage.

That is really cool @silversaver888 ! What an awesome coin to add to your stack! I didn't realize they were making them, now I'm going to have to buy one. I've always been a Superman fan since I first saw the movies with Christopher Reeve as a kid. I never really got into comic books, but they are such a unique American art form that they deserve the recognition!

Yes, there are, specifically Niue. This is the first for a real government mint, USMint, to do it. The superheros are American, @hafiz34. There are also superheroes of Japan, Europe, and Latin-America. But not Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, etc.

That is a really nice addition. Love the side with Clark Kent at the farm standing next to the fence and truck. I remember watching the old black and white Superman TV show and also Superfriends cartoon when I was younger. I don't really get into the stuff anymore, but really brings back memories of sitting in my pajamas on the Saturday morning in front of the TV.
I think so myself, @coinjoe! I can't believe US Mint finally did it! I am sure it brings back memories! According to Wikipedia: Superman first appeared in comics in 1938, specifically in Action Comics #1, which was published on April 18, 1938. It is only right that the US Mint created a coin/medal to memorialize Comic Art.
