2025 Australia Silver Emu Coin

The Australian Emu was first released in 2018, a year after the Australian Swans. It is yet another recognition for one of Australia's iconic birds.

IMG_6093.JPG

Emus are large birds standing up to 6 feet tall, with long necks, piercing eyes, and shaggy feathers. They are the second-largest bird on the planet- the first is the ostrich. Emus have strong legs and can sprint up to 30 miles per hour. And although Emus run fast, and can swim, they can't fly! They have a booming voice, distinct, deep, and reverberating, that can be heard 2 kilometers away!

2025 Australia 1 oz Silver Emu BU

Emus are reflected in Australia's coat of arms as well as in coins, symbolic of resiliency, adaptability, and progress (because Emus can't walk backwards).

This is the first time that Perth Mint shows five chicks in the Emu coin! Which emu parent is most likely shown below, the father emu or the mother emu?

In 2018, I was not particularly keen on collecting this series. I bought it because it was a coin by Perth Mint. Through the years, I've fallen in love with the coins. I certainly look forward to next year's Australia Siver Emu coin.

It's a very pretty coin, sis! Nice detailing and all of those Emus at the bottom is a nice touch.

I have to laugh, though as it makes me think of the Liberty Mutual commercials featuring "Emu and Doug'.

Thanks for sharing sis! Take care and have a lovely rest of the evening! Much !LUV, hugs and kisses to you!🤗💜🌹😘😍 !LADY !PIMP

Liberty Mutual commercials? I have to look it up! I seldom come across commercials on TV (which I seldom watch)!
Thank you, sis, I look forward to next year's coin, which, btw, is just around the corner. It is August soon!!!
Much !LUV sis 🤗😘😍

Where has the year gone? It's crazy how fast it goes speeding by! Do look up the commercials; they will make you smile, especially the one where he leaves his human parents in the country.

Love ya much sis!🤗😍😘💕🌹 !HOPE !INDEED

I asked Copilot and this was its response:'

After the female lays the eggs, it’s the male who takes on full responsibility—incubating them for around eight weeks without food, water, or even leaving the nest. When the chicks hatch, he shifts from brooding sentinel to dedicated dad, guiding them through their first months.
During that time, he teaches them how to forage, stay safe, and navigate their environment. His parenting style is quiet and protective, a sort of stoic shepherd in the Australian bush. It’s a powerful image—this giant bird roaming the grasslands with a train of striped little fluffballs trailing behind.
Feels like it could be a metaphor, doesn’t it? Strength in quiet guardianship, the grace of giving without asking, or even the contrast between the wildness of nature and tenderness of care.

The Emu War video is humorous in a subtle way. There must be an AI remake of this 'tragic' battle somewhere in someone's fertile creativity to hatch.

Always, with !LUV 🤗🌺❤️

They would get better results if they dispatched a few Companies of Cooks, Chefs and Dieticians to develop tactical recipes and strategic culinary dishes promoting Emus as a good source of protein and part of a newly traditional Aussie family Christmas dinner.

Looks delish!

Of course the Aussies will then have issues with local turkey problems afterwards.

Come to think of it, I can sell all of my silver now, collect only those that I would keep, and continue stacking gold!
I would NOT sell: Lunar 3, Swans, Emu, Rwanda Nautical Ounce, Chiwoo Cheoung, my vintage rounds, I'll keep one of each date ASE, US Constitutional coins... What do you think, @silverd510 ?

You can't imagine the laughter here at home with this emu on the coin. I never imagined in my life having an emu as the symbol of a currency.

Emus are primarily found in Australia, where they inhabit a variety of environments. But according to National Geographic, they can also be found in New Guinea, Indonesia, the Solomon Islands, and the Philippines, although Australia is their primary habitat.
This is the coat of arms of Australia.

Wow, now I'm curious, is it some rarity lost to history? I know most of the Brazilian coins from the Cruzeiro; before that, I don't know any.
