Let's cut right to the chase.

The Hunter silver bar

Scottsdale's Hunter bar is portrayed as a heroic and fearless warrior. The silver cross emblazoned on his breast plate identifies this imposing figure who fights on the side of God, at the same time wards off demonic frontal attacks. The identity of this man not known but may have been chosen by his brotherhood, trained from his youth to be a warrior-priest in similar lines of the Templar or Hospitalers. Yet his enemy is neither man nor country but wages a spiritual war against the dark forces that sets itself up against the kingdom of Heaven.

How quaint.
I think this is a slight out-of-theme departure from Scottsdale's design team of the 2024 Monster Collection, unless this is a noble warrior have 'Gone rogue.' So when the term ‘Monster Hunter’ comes along what character would first come to mind?

A) Ghost Busters
B) Gandalf the Grey
C) The Scooby Doo Gang
D) BLADE Vampire hunter
E) Alien Mission Specialist Ripley
F} Von Helsing
G) Other, reply in the comments, who and why?

Well, if you guessed F) Van Helsing, we are on the same wavelength, and in my thinking we harken back to the original character in Bram Stoker's 1897 gothic horror novel 'Dracula'. Meanwhile Hollywood has a very different adaptation in their Van Helsing action adventure movie.

And as expected Hollywood upgrades the old professor Abraham Von Helsing to the strapping younger Monster hunter starring X-Men star Huge Jackman with co-star Kate Beckinsale from the Underworld franchise of Vampire vs Werewolves action horror series into this 2004 Action horror feature. Did this Star power pushed this film into the heaven’s and into the hearts of the audience? Let’s say I was glad not having to have wasted paying much to see this with the exception of getting this thrift store DVD for $2 CAD. The majority of Critics did not spare their flames. Pretty cool action scenes, and a tad overdone with the special effects.

If you’re an action adventure purist then this could be your ticket for an evening of distracted entertainment.
Kate, I enjoy your forte but you were better off sticking to Underworld.

We know what these are. The undead denizens the populate the post-apocalyptic world leaving what struggling few try to survive at least until the credit roll. At this point there had been so many Zombie flicks the public have gave up due to Zombie fatigue. I sort of grew up on the classic George Romero's, Night of the Living dead with its spin offs and it's budget retro style cinematography.

As for my favorite choice among the more up-to-date fare; The first three seasons of The Walking Dad TV series and since then everything else I renamed to "1001 Ways to kill a Zombie."

Yeah, Zombie fatigue.

The Scary Cost of Living story: Doom Spenders.

From my latest readings. Maclean’s Magazine writer Courtney Shea, The Doom Spender’s captured my interest in how the generations following me are coping with the cost of living in Canada. Already, I am concerned with the future prospects of both my sons finding their place in the world. There are so many big changes, no one is sure how their lives will pan out.

The article follows a Gen Z 28 year old woman named Hillary, a University graduate in Public Policy out of the University of Guelph. Then attending Queen’s University for her post-graduate Masters. Her Toronto job provides a salary of $3,200 CAD/month while her apartment rental is $2,200 CAD/month, I can see that this alone already puts her back to the wall. The cost of groceries is increasing relentless. Forcing her to accumulate an ever increasing balance on her credit card until it no longer worked regardless how much she scrutinized her spending.

Every month I rearrange my desktop.

Currently, Canadians carry a consumer debt of $2.5 trillion dollars in 2025. The household debt-to-Income ratio of 175%, the most in any G7 Nation! It's no wonder the following generations are so disenfranchised. That’s scary! 👻

It's another reason why I stack!

I just got the 2025 Set.
And looking forward to the 2026 but the price of the silver bars maybe $150+ each by then, unless there is a deep physical shortage. Scottsdale prides themselves of sourcing their silver locally. Who knows what will happen by next year. Trump could do an EO nationalizing all domestic mines.

I must really be in a "Halloween state of mind," because when I first went through your post, I thought "Doom Spenders" said "Doom Spiders" — and after reading Hilary's story, I thought: "Wait, where's the part about the spiders...?!?!?" 😂

Yes, my post took a bit of a right turn. This post was half written when I read the article and I felt for Hillary's plight then she goes on to let her credit history hit rock bottom as I think has done. Feeling a pang of compassion for this twenty something generation who feel that the world has done a rug pull on them.

At that age I've done my fair share of stupid, I smartened up in time to make the right decisions, to pick my career, graduate out of Nurses college within a year, saved like crazy while looking for my ideal home to raise my boys. Then finally burned the mortgagee four years ago. With the cost of living and today's economics I wouldn't have been able to pull it off.

Come to think of it, Doom Spiders may refer to an old Science fiction horror movie or a some first person computer game.

Monster hunters......I'd have to say the series Supernatural! The why of it; if you've ever seen any episodes, you know, lol!

Here, on this side of the border, they are giving Social Security a 2.5% cost of living raise. What they don't mention besides the obvious, that the cost of living is around 15-20%, so their increase is laughable; but what they fail to mention is that Medicare premiums will more than likely eat that pittance of an incrase up, since they will raise the premiums, as they did last year. It ate last year's as well. Really kind of sad........I see so many on some seriously fixed incomes at the clinic and they just simply cannot afford much of anything! It's sad, they state we've call come to.

Supernatural series, I can barely recall the series when I was working full time plus and my hands more than full with two very young boys. I'll have to find a Streaming service that carries the series.

I felt so sad for Hillary and any University graduate finding any gainful work in this economy to support themselves. I can imagine tens of thousands of her generation just give up on their dreams and plunge into personal bankruptcy with a bang. Unfortunately, that will be a bad decision when they look back. A university degree no longer promises a career.
I started with common sense by choosing to be a nurse via college.

My younger sister works in Consumer retail marketing support and employment in retail is bad lately but she is grateful for having a good job. I have her living in my late Mom's condo so she wouldn't worry about rent. She could keep up with other expenses for the next five years assuming inflation doesn't go hyper.

I hope my financial plan holds up for the next 5 years as I officially begin living off of the 4 pensions in November I have set up. Should I lose two of the four for any reason, I can resort to drawing from my Pirate Pension Plan.

Actually, about 10,000 of that Hive came in the form of a windfall of Dogecoin whose value was pumped by Elon Musk. I collected Dogecoin in a wallet for fun from coin faucets when ever I had a spare minute or two. I exchanged them for other crypto and Hive to became dolphin in late summer of 2021.

These are three of my twelve treasure chests, they're all full of silver treasures and I run out of space, I may need to acquire private vaulting services real soon.

My room has far too much clutter. Boxes of files and relating to estate and legal documents. And trying to part with my late roommate's things.

It really is scary just how bad the economic situation is up there. How are these young people supposed to live with rent that high and salaries so low? It almost forces them to have a side gig just to eat anything other than Ramen noodles. It's a problem here too and I don't see things getting better any time soon. Plus out of control national debts, I'm thinking the world really has gone insane...

Keep stacking up those sats, gold, and silver, and congrats on passing 29K HP! Great job!

Scottsdale is creative enough to avoid copyrighted representations of known horror genre figures and that's a big issue as every film distributor is lightning fast in slapping on a Cease and Desist order. I suggested a blood red and black city-scape background, a gaunt figure in a business suit carrying a briefcase holding up a court order. Hollowed silver eyes. with the words 'COPYRIGHT LAWYER' at the bottom. 🦇
I've seen IG silver artists pour; Jason, Freddy, Elvira etc. but the batches and margins are so small, they weren't worth going after for damages.

I've set up my younger sister in my late Mother's condo so they don't have to worry about rent, just upkeep. She won't have to worry about rental inflation forcing her out for at least the next 5 to 7 years unless things go hyper-inflationary. 😮 I suggested to my sister to consider getting a Student as a roommate and earn say $700/month passive income for Room and Board since she has a spare room. Typical students often share a One bedroom apartment three ways to afford rent. Her condo is strategically located on a route between a Community college and regional University.

If things go Hyper inflationary, I've already set her up with 2 oz. gold and 50 oz. silver as her own physical holding on behalf of my Mom's Trust.
