Rise of the Commons: Unleashing the Power of the Underappreciated
Today, we look at the Rise of the Commons ruleset, exploring a lineup that revolves around the often underestimated but highly effective common and rare monsters lead by Kelya Frendul. As a Splinterlands player who finds joy in discovering the hidden gems of the Splinterlands, I present a strategy that not only maximizes the strengths of common and rare monsters but also capitalizes on the unique dynamics of the Super Sneak secondary ruleset.

RULESET: Rise of the Commons
Description:
Only common and rare units may be used in battles.
Summoners are unaffected by this rule.
I really like this ruleset!

The Strategy
Rise of the Commons ruleset provides a unique playground for strategic experimentation, allowing players to showcase the power of common and rare monsters often overshadowed by their legendary and epic counterparts. The synergy among Kelya Frendul and this carefully selected lineup creates a powerful force that excels in both offense and defense. As you embark on your Rise of the Commons battles, consider this lineup to experience the thrill of unlocking the potential hidden within the seemingly common cards!
Kelya Frendul: The Unsung Commander
Kelya Frendul takes center stage in this Rise of the Commons lineup, and for good reason. Water boasts some impressive common and rare monsters, making it a strategic choice for this ruleset. Kelya's ability to buff the entire team with an extra speed and an additional shield proves universally beneficial, especially in a ruleset where melee attackers are abundant due to the active Super Sneak secondary ruleset.
Cruel Sethropod: The Efficient Tank
In small to medium mana matches, Cruel Sethropod emerges as the perfect tank. With a low mana cost of three, this monster offers a base shield of six, seven health points, a speed of two, and a melee attack of three. Its efficiency in both cost and performance makes it an ideal choice for holding the frontline and absorbing enemy blows.
Deeplurker: The Battlefield Menace
Hailing from the Chaos Legion core set, Deeplurker is anything but a common presence on the battlefield. This common rarity monster stands out with a remarkable five melee attack, four speed, and seven health points. The Opportunity, Poison, and Demoralize abilities make Deeplurker a force to be reckoned with, especially under the Super Sneak ruleset. In Rise of the Commons, where legendary and epic monsters are excluded, Deeplurker shines as a great choice.
Merdaali Guardian: Supportive Powerhouse
In low mana rulesets, Merdaali Guardian proves to be one of the best support monsters. As a rare Chaos Legion core set monster, Merdaali Guardian lacks personal attack abilities but shines in supporting the team. The Strengthen ability boosts the health of all monsters, while healing the tank and repairing damaged armor, providing invaluable support to the squad.
Pelacor Bandit: The Sneaky Inexpensive Assassin
Hailing from the Chaos reward set, Pelacor Bandit is a cost-effective and common rarity reward card that stands out as one of the best sneak monsters in the game. With a base speed of six, four melee damage, five health, and the sneak and flying abilities, this three-mana monster is a consistent performer in the Rise of the Commons ruleset.
Hardy Stonefish: The Tactical Meatshield
Despite being labeled as "the trash card" of the Chaos Legion Core set, Hardy Stonefish proves its worth in this strategy. As a one-mana card with two shield, three health, two speed, and two melee attack, Hardy Stonefish serves as effective bait for enemy opportunity monsters and a sturdy meatshield for sneak attack monsters.
Chaos Agent: The Silent Menace
In the realm of non-attacking cards, Chaos Agent takes the crown as the most deadly in the modern league. Priced at one mana, this monster becomes a perfect sneak protection play in low mana games. Boasting a high base speed of four, four health, dodge and phase abilities, and a deadly backfire ability, Chaos Agent becomes even more deadly with Kelya Frendul's buff, reaching a speed of five.
The Summoner

I like using Kelya Frendul in the Rise of the Commons ruleset because water has some really good common and rare monsters additionally Kelya buffs the whole team with one more speed and one more shield which are almost universally beneficial for any ruleset, but is particularly great in a ruleset where there is a high likelihood of lots of melee attackers like in this case because we have a secondary ruleset of Super Sneak active.
1st Slot - Tank

Cruel Sethropod is a great tank for small to medium mana matches. At twenty one mana this is a fairly low mana match making Cruel Sethropod a perfect chose for a tank. It comes with a base shield of six and seven health points with speed of two and melee attack of three and all of this for only three mana!
2nd Slot - Fast Attacking Opportunity, Demoralize and Poison Monster

Deeplurker is another member of the Chaos Legion core set just like the previous two cards that I have described. It is a common rarity monster, but there is nothing common about Deeplurker when it comes to the battlefield. This card is an absolute monster with five melee attack, four speed, seven health points and really important abilities of Opportunity, Poison and Demoralize. Demoralize is particularly important as we are likely to have a lot of melee monsters under the super sneak ruleset. In the Rise of the Commons ruleset where some of the most powerful legendary and epic monster are excluded Deeplurker is a really awesome monster to use!
3rd Slot - Armor Repair and Tank Heal Support Monster

Merdaali Guardian is one of the best support monsters to use in a low mana ruleset. It is a rare Chaos Legion core set monster and it really shines in Rise of the Commons ruleset. While not having any attack of her own Merdaali Guardian supports the team by using her strengthen ability providing all monsters extra health and by healing the tank as well as repairing damaged armor.
4th Slot - Fast Sneak Monster

Pelacor Bandit is a Chaos reward set member and while it is really inexpensive and is a common rarity reward card it is still one of the best sneak monsters in the game! It comes with a base speed of six, four melee damage, five health as well as sneak and flying abilities and all of this for only three mana. No wonder I use this monster all the time!
5th Slot - Meatshield Monster

Hardy Stonefish is not the most popular card in the Chaos Legion Core set. In fact many call this card "the trash card" of the set. While there is some merit to that assertion, in this case a one mana card that has two shield three health, two speed and two melee attack is actually really useful as a bait for enemy opportunity monsters or as a meatshield for the sneak attack monsters.
6th Slot - Sneak Protection Tank Monster

Chaos Agent is probably the most deadly non-attacking card in the modern league. This one mana monster is a perfect sneak protection play in the low mana games. It comes with a high base speed of four, four health and dodge and phase abilities as well as backfire ability that is deadly against slower sneak monsters in combination with dodge ability and a speed of four that is buffed further to a speed of five by Kelya Frendul.

THE BATTLE
Looks like our opponent also decided to go with a blue team. They used the same backline protection monster Chaos Agent and they also utilize Merdaali Guardian and Hardy Stonefish, Pelacor Bandit and Deeplurker the lineup is different in order and instead of the tank I used they used a secondary repair monster, lets see how this will playout!
In the first round we managed to land poison on their Chaos Agent, that is quite important from my point of view.
In the second round we landed poison on their Pelacor Bandit which is another important win. Each player lost their Chaos Agent.
In round three we were able to take out their Pelacor Bandit and land poison on their Deeplurker. They took out our Stone Fish :)
Fourth round was fairly un-eventful but we continue to make progress towards winning this battle.
At the start of round six poison takes out their Deeplurker, now it is just a matter of time before we win!
It took all the way to round 12 to win this but the win was inevitable after round six!

Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 45/75) Liquid rewards.
Thanks Steve! Btw, I think you are in THGaming Brawlers guild with Drazeus account, they really need help in Gold League fray brawls (2 empty frays on gold league not gold cards frays 8 and 9). If you join and play the brawl you will help them out and earn gladiator cards for Drazeus :)
Thanks for sharing! - @underlock
