Splinterlands: The SPT Token

The image above, taken from TribalDex, is the recent trade orders for the SPT Token. (What is the SPT Token?) The SPT Token is the blog token earned for blogging about any and all things Splinterlands. SPT can be earned by either curating or creating content on the Hive Blockchain front-end known as Splintertalk. Alternatively creating and curating Splinterland content on the Hive Blockchain (regardless of front-end used) with the proper tags associated with the Splintertalk Tribe ( #SPT, #SPLINTERLANDS) will also give you the opportunity to earn the SPT Token. That's all fine and dandy but what can we do with the SPT Token? What is its purpose?

Curation

The more SPT Power you hold the more influence you have within the Splintertalk Tribe. A high staked SPT count will allow you to reward More SPT tokens to content that brings value to the Splintertalk Tribe, SPT Token and the Splinterlands community itself.

NFT Trades

The Splintertalk Tribe (Webpage/ Front-end) has a NFT Market where you can trade your SPT tokens for NFT's. The NFT's found on Splintertalk are not playable within the Splinterlands game. Below you will see pictured some of the Featured NFT's for trade for the SPT token on the Splintertalk webpage.

What Is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands or commonly abbreviated to SPL is a play2earn game on the Hive Blockchain that utilizes NFT's for their robust gaming economy. These playable NFT's have real monetary value. The game has its own on-site marketplace and card (NFT) rental market and many more features on top of that. Sounds interesting? SPT:SWAP.HIVE has a total Liquidity of $346 and ONEUP:SPT has a total liquidity of $106 USD. Please do research before participating in any Liquidity pools. There was a point in-time that the SPT Token was a hot commodity but that fizzled out awhile ago. Currently there is only $8.43 USD in total trade volume within a 24hr period. What does the future have in-store for the SPT Token? No-one knows for certain but if you are part of the Splinterlands community and enjoy blogging about the Splinterlands game; there is no harm in using the proper tags (#splinterlands and/or #spt) to fill your bags with SPT. There is an off chance sometime in the distance future the Splinterland team might decide to utilize SPT in some way. Purhaps it will be a community member that finds a new use-case for SPT. I don't think it would take much to see some trade volume kick off. Another bull run with on-boarding of new players just might do it. The token being implemented in game somehow just might do it. Of course this is all just speculation but its fun to do just that.
