Brawl Report #170: Another rough brawl as I rely on free wins

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles under the right ruleset or summoner. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it wasn't so great this time around

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 3 wins. This time, there was 2 free wins because 2 guilds did not submit someone to my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 3,048 merits and 43.002 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 8 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. Both me and my guild didn't do so great this time around.

Brawl fights

There were 5 that I lost and 1 won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had the level advantage. It's rough trying to beat my opponent, as my damage isn't that consistent against the same monster.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I had too many melee monsters and Mylor is hard to beat when combined with the level advantage. Quora is also a pain when combined with that taunt monster.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had the speed advantage, and Quora is an overpowered card. Another disadvantaged fight plus Mylor for thorns again.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had the level advantage, and he had far more damage than I did.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent had the level advantage, and I couldn't take out my opponent's tank due to the healer he had in the back.

Conclusion

Doing 7 fights for 3,048 merits and 43.002 SPS is a good reward for the effort. The free wins were the only wins that I managed to get, and it's hard to beat your opponent when they have the level advantage. I am limited in my options and level, so there isn't too much I can do.
