Brawl Report #151: Gotta love those free wins but a rough brawl for my guild

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches, and it was decent this time around. I did a great job in brawls this time around, and my guild didn't do as bad as last time.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 5 wins. This time, there were 3 free wins because three guilds did not submit someone. My rewards for the brawl were 1,810 merits and 31.864 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 8th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did amazing this time around, and the brawl results were just as bad.

There were 3 that I lost, 1 that I won, and 1 that I won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. That magic monster was too much for me. It destroyed my backline while the rest of my monsters tried to take out the rest of his monsters.

You can find the second match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My Katrelba in the back did great work once bloodlust and enrage landed.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent's magic lineup was just too much for me.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. Possibilus and Coastal Sentry are a deadly combination. I used it quite a bit in modern when it was available, but it's rough when you are up against it.

Conclusion

Doing 7 fights for 1,810 merits and 31.864 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did great this time around, and my guild did not do so great. From what I saw afterwards, I think that our guild officers did not place people in all brawls. Even if they are inactive, the free wins can add up, and we were missing that this time around. Alot of people have left over time, and we just don't have enough active people.
