Brawl Report #139: A decent brawl result

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. The free wins helped out quite a bit, but I didn't get completely wiped in my matches either.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There were 2 free wins this time because two guilds didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 4,143 merits and 58.361 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 6th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I did great this time around, and my guild did decent when compared to last round.

Brawl fights

There were 4 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 2 that I won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There wasn't much I could do with all those ranged monsters there. I also messed up and used a healer when you can't use heals due to the ruleset.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. This was another battle where my opponent had the level advantage, and his lineup was just way more powerful than mine. Once that bloodlust stacked, I couldn't do much.

You can find the third match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. There was a slight level disadvantage, but I won because I had more damage than my opponent.

You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I was worried about that Katrelba Gobson, but Coastal Sentry did its job with that double strike and the ability to attack from the 2nd position.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 4,143 merits and 58.361 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did decently this time around, and I am glad to have won some of the actual fights. My guild is still ranking fairly low as we lost quite a few active players. Either way, the rewards do add up over time.
