Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! - Conclave Arcana in Tournaments
My guild in MOON, Lux Aeterna, recently hosted another private Splinterlands tournament. Although I’m not a member of the Splinterlands guild, I was invited to participate. All cards used in the event were provided and this time only the Rebellion and Conclave Arcana sets were allowed. It was a great chance to experience fully leveled Conclave Arcana cards in action, and I'm truly grateful to Lux Aeterna for the opportunity. I managed to win seven out of twelve matches, finishing in seventh place and earning 20 SPS as a reward.
First to third places were awarded with standard Conclave Arcana packs while the rest won a consolation prize of 20 SPS.
I will show some games from the tournament. The first one is for 99 mana and I used my strongest cards.
Nidhoggr is a dragon archon. He is a 10 mana archon with debuff skills (-1 armor, -1 health). He can also give blast and deathblow skills to his units.
Rage is a legendary dragon for 16 mana. As you can see, he is very strong with 5 magic, 5 armor, 11 health and 4 speed. He has 5 skills like flying, void, life leech and affliction.
Gramel the Hunger is the strongest Conclave Arcana card with 3 attacks. Ha also has 5 skills but the useful ones in this game are charge and relentless strike.
Night Reaper is an epic reward card. Maybe there are better cards but I was looking for high magic damage attacks. He has last stand skill so I made a mistake in putting him in the middle.
Desolation is a legendary Conclave Arcana dragon card. He has a strong 5 ranged attack and 5 skills.
Riklauniman is a strong legendary card with two attacks (4 ranged, 2 melee) and he can attack from anywhere.
Writing this now, I notice I only have five units! Apparently Nidhoggr has a debuff that decreases by one the number of units you can put in the game. So instead of six units I only have five against my opponent's full army. This made the game a close fight.
My plan was to use the cards with highest damage since there is no limit to mana. The enemy also has high attacks but he has one unit with only one magic attack. This gave me the advantage.
Round 1 The enemy made the first kill with my Night Reaper leaving the game.
Round 2 My Gramel also got killed. The enemy team is still intact.
Round 3 We killed two from the enemy team but my Desolation also died in this round. It's now two versus four with the enemy having more units.
Round 4 My team killed two enemy units. The blast skill from Nidhoggr is our team's trump card. It's now two versus two.
Round 5 Another enemy unit killed, two versus one with our team having the advantage.
Round 6 Last enemy killed and we won the game. What a come from behind win!
This was a very close fight that we almost lost because of my inexperience. The combination of Nidhoggr and Rage is very strong that carried the fight.

In this game I chose dragon again with Akane taking the archon slot. I have Rage and Gramel again in the team. Joining them are Taye Loreswift and Bren Palesworn whom I used in previous tournaments. For the first time I used the new legendary White Conclave Arcana card, Palifala Weslinath. He has four skills and has 3 ranged attack. The only non-legendary card I used was a common card Meriput Magician. It's a good support card that can heal my tank and give +1 health to the team.
The enemy chose the new green archon but did not have another elf in his team. He also has Gramel and Bren with two more legendary cards. I think my team has the better units with a mix of attackers and support cards.
Round 1 My team immediately made two kills. The enemy lost his tank and Mahka Hemlig.
Round 2 The enemy's Gramel and Bren were also killed. It's now six units versus two.
Round 3 Another enemy unit was killed. Only one left going to round 4.
Round 4 I won the game with my team intact.

In the next game I chose the new Green archon and have three elves in my team to take advantage of the racial buffs.
The enemy chose the death team and a lot of magic attackers. My archon decreases magic attacks and this gave me the advantage in this game.
Round 1 The enemy and I had the same tank (Halfling Refugee) but my team has the higher attack total so we were able to kill the enemy tank first.
Round 2 Another enemy unit was killed while my team is still complete.
Round 3 The enemy lost two more units going into round 4. My team is still intact.
Round 4 One more enemy killed. It's six versus one into round 5.
Round 5 We won the game with complete units remaining.

I’m grateful once again to the Lux Aeterna Guild and @silentriot for the opportunity to join this private tournament. More than the SPS rewards, the chance to play with fully powered cards was a rewarding experience. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
