Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!

In the last few days we have received some exciting new features in Splinterlands. The “Survival” mode has been added and the leaderboard prices have also been adjusted. I am currently really bullish about Splinterlands. Especially if the announced marketing campaign works and brings new players into our community.

Answers to the last Question:

The last question was “Which is your favorite Splinterlands card?”. A total of 13 people participated, which I'm pretty happy with for the first part of the giveaway. Let's take a look at some of the answers.

A lot of cards from the Chaos Legion expansion were mentioned. This is only logical, as many people own this card and they are generally quite strong. For example, @cherokee4life named Cursed Windeku, @lumpiadobo named Venari Wavesmith and @cscable Doctor Blight. All three very strong and widely played cards.

But also many cards from the latest expansion Rebellion were mentioned, such as Lord Thanalor by @jaysonbchannel, Venka The Vile by @kaibagt, Olivia Of The Brook by @logen9f or Giant Alpine Skink by @artofkylin.

Finally, classics such as Quora Towershead by @hatdogsensei and Alric Stormbringer or Byzantine Kitty by @dstampede were also mentioned.

My personal favorite card is Djinn Oshannus. On the one hand I like the artwork and the lore of the card and on the other hand it is just super strong. When I started playing Splinterlands in January 2022, it was the first legendary card I owned and it has won countless battles for me since then. Especially considering how cheap the card is, it's a must have. Also @olaf.gui and @stekene named Djinn Oshannus as a favorite card, which of course makes me very happy.

And the Winner is...

It's time to draw the winner of the last giveaway.

I think the new survival mode is def aimed at veterans of the game and not new folks like me so I'm not really interested.

Congrats to the winner!

For me Survival Mode is a super cool idea and I think I had never stopped playing 2 years ago and kept at it, I would be all over Survival Mode but for me and the amount of cards I have it's not worth it.

Sure I tried 3 battles (until I ran out of non Modern Summoners to use) and lost all 3 :)

The idea sounds great, although I don't have enough cards to put at risk of not being able to play anymore.
Maybe in the future when I have more cards and/or the gamemode is tweaked, I'll revise my opinion :)

The Survival Mode is great for giving utility to excess cards. It's a mode of play for players who invested in a lot of cards. It's not for the likes of me though since I don't have much cards.

I liked survival mode, even though with few trials to not waste modern league cards... Some roguelike or dungeon elements.

Got very unlucky in a match where I lost lobb lowland max lvl against a low lvl deck, was never so much humiliated in 4 yrs of spl like in there... Although in my defense my deck synergy made little sense and only played what was possible with a mix of mainly middle lvl cards...

Overall thought fun but kinda difficult against full decks, and still need to wait pool to get into some average, but 'll probably be a tough climb for me...

Btw I think the Oshannus card is inspired in the sumerian deity Oannes, an abkallu, I was reading about and thought interesting, which leaded to the association.

I think it’s a great use of cards, even with a small collection if you are not using them on land, disable your main deck and use everything else!

Lasted just a day but I’ll be back!

I don't have an opinion about how the mode plays out because I haven't tried it yet. However, I can say that it has already had a positive effect on the price of the cards, especially Chaos Legion cards.
