The Potential of Epic Reward Cards (Part IV): Kha'zi Conjurer & Kelan Gaines - Social Media Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Hello, friends of Hive and Splinterlands! Welcome to my social media challenge post. Continuing our series of reward card reviews, today we conclude our review of all the epic reward cards. Exploring the full potential of these cards has been an interesting exercise in study, particularly with the epic reward cards, since some of them have affliction abilities that affect your lineup, so you have to think carefully about how to use them. And today, we finally conclude these analyses with one of the cards that took me the longest to master: Kha'zi Conjurer.

Bienvenidos a mi post del social media challenge que continuando con nuestra serie de reseñas de las cartas rewards, hoy finalizamos la reseña de todas las cartas rewards épicas, explorar hasta donde son capaces de llegar con estas cartas ha sido un ejercicio de estudio interesante, particularmente con las cartas épicas rewards ya que algunas de ellas tienes cartas con habilidades de aflicción que afectan a tu alineación, por lo que tienes que pensar muy bien como usarlas. Y hoy, finalmente culminamos estos análisis con una de las cartas que más tiempo me tomó alcanzar la maestría con ella: Kha'zi Conjurer.
In addition to Kha'zi Conjurer, we'll be reviewing a rare promotional card that we didn't get around to reviewing, but I want to take this opportunity to share my impressions with you: Kelan Gaines, the last Rebellion promotional card purchased with vouchers. Now, with the new Modern format underway, this card has begun to see significant use in my strategies. Además de Kha'zi Conjurer reseñaremos una carta rara promocional que no alcanzamos a reseñar pero que quiero aprovechar este espacio para compartir contigo mis impresiones sobre ella: Kelan Gaines la última carta promocional Rebellion comprada con vouchers y que ahora, con el nuevo formato moderno en marcha has comenzado a tener un uso importante en mis estrategias con esta carta. Kha'zi Conjurer
When the new reward cards for the Rebellion Edition were released, a set of epic cards appeared with abilities characterized by inflicting either damage or some type of affliction upon use. At first, in the previous Modern CL/Rebellion format, these cards seemed like a waste since their disadvantages outweighed their advantages, and I simply ignored them in battle, always finding a Chaos Legion (CL) card with better features. But now, with the introduction of the new format, these cards have begun to have significant utility, and Kha'zi Conjurer has been one of those cards that has begun to stand out in the new Modern format.
Cuando se estrenaron las nuevas cartas rewards de la edición Rebellion aparecieron un conjunto de cartas épicas con habilidades caracterizadas por inflingir ya sea daño o algún tipo de aflicción por usarlas. Al comienzo, cuando teníamos el anterior formato moderno CL/Rebellion estas cartas parecían un desperdicio ya que eran más sus desventajas que ventajas y simplemente las ignoraba al momento de una batalla ya que siempre encontraba una carta Chaos Legion (CL) con mejores prestaciones. Pero ahora con la introducción del nuevo formato estas cartas han comenzado a tener una utilidad importante y entre ellas Kha'zi Conjurer ha sido una de esas cartas que ha comenzado a destacar en el nuevo formato moderno.
Advantages/Ventajas
Low mana cost and high damage/Bajo costo de mana y alto daño
In the many posts I've written since starting Splinterlands, there's one axiom I'll never tire of repeating: cards with a mana cost of 0, 1, or 2 are cards you should take seriously. And Kha'zi Conjurer is precisely that card. With a mana cost of 2 and a base damage of 4, this card is simply monstrous! Ideal for battles with a very low mana cap.
En los muchos post que he realizado desde que comencé en Splinterlands hay un axioma que nunca me cansaré de repetir: las cartas con un coste de mana 0, 1 o 2 son cartas que tienes que tomarte en serio. Y Kha'zi Conjurer es precisamente esa carta, con un coste de 2 de mana y un daño base de 4 esta carta es simplemente monstruosa! Ideal para batallas con un límite de mana muy bajo.

1. Incendiary
Of course, a card with a mana cost of 2 and a damage range of 4 from level 1 is too perfect. The balance is determined by this ability: Incendiary, which has a 33% chance of applying burn to itself and adjacent units, removing 2 health points per turn. Although this affliction can be healed, in the secondary row, it would require a unit with the Cleanse Rearguard ability.
Por supuesto una carta con coste de mana 2 y un daño rango de 4 desde el nivel 1 es demasiado perfecto, el equilibrio viene dada por esta habilidad: Incendiary que tiene un 33% de aplicar quemadura así mismo y a las unidades adyacentes que quitan 2 puntos de salud por turno y aunque esta aflicción puede sanarse, en la fila secundaría requeriría que una unidad tenga la habilidad cleanse rearguard.
Battle/Batalla
I normally like to use Kha'zi Conjurer under two circumstances: with the Little League ruleset and in Back to Basics. But this time, under the new Modern format, battle setups focus on a solid vanguard; once they're defeated, victory is a matter of time. So I'll use the only fire summoner with AC and Kha'zi Conjurer to break the enemy vanguard, although it probably won't last beyond the second round.
Normalmente me gusta usar Kha'zi Conjurer bajo 2 circunstancias: con la ruleset little league y en back to basics. Pero en esta ocasión, bajo el nuevo formato moderno, las configuraciones de batalla se centran en una sólida vanguardia, una vez que las derrotas la victoria es cuestión de tiempo. Así que usaré el único invocador de fuego que tiene CA y a Kha'zi Conjurer para romper la vanguardia enemiga aunque seguramente no soporte más allá del segundo round.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 3
In the first round, Kha'zi Conjurer helped us remove the defense of the first-position tank, Dread Tafarian, only to be eliminated by Mad Ogre. Kha'zi Conjurer subsequently removed the defense of the dangerous Thanalorian Blade in the second round, which would completely dismantle our opponent, even though Kha'zi Conjurer didn't survive the third round. For this reason, it's important to keep in mind that this card isn't suitable for long battles and that adjacent cards have enough health to withstand the burn. Next battle!
En el primer round Kha'zi Conjurer nos ayudó a remover la defensa del tanque en la primera posición, Dread Tafarian para posteriormente ser eliminado por Mad Ogre. Posteriormente Kha'zi Conjurer elimina la defensa del peligroso Thanalorian Blade en el segundo round, lo que dejaría completamente desarticulado a nuestro oponente a pesar de que Kha'zi Conjurer no logró sobrevivir al tercer round. Por esta razón es importante tener en cuenta que esta carta no es conveniente usar esta carta en batallas muy largas y que las cartas adyacentes tengan la suficiente cantidad de vida para soportar la quema. Kelan Gaines' Final Assault/El último asalto de Kelan Gaines
Kelan Gaines is a very special card. His lore is so interesting, and I highly recommend reading it. This character is like a hinge between the three stages Splinterlands has gone through: the glory of the Chaos Legion, the decline of the Rebellion, and the hope for a better future represented by the Arcane Conclave. In the previous Modern format, the cards from the Chaos Legion set were so powerful that they left little room for this card to shine. But in the current format, it has become a very interesting option. Let's take a look at the advantages that have made this card decisive in ranked battles.
Kelan Gaines es una carta muy especial, su lore es tan interesante y recomiendo mucho que lo lean, pues este personaje es como una bisagra entre las 3 etapas que ha atravesado Splinterlands: la gloria de Chaos Legion, la decadencia de Rebellion y la esperanza de un futuro mejor que representa Conclave Arcana. En el formato moderno anterior las cartas de la edición Chaos Legion son tan poderosas que le dejaban poco espacio a esta carta para poder brillar. Pero en el actual formato se ha convertido en una opción bastante interesante, veamos entonces las ventajas que ha hecho que esta carta sea determinante en las batallas clasificatorias.
Advantages/Ventajas
Bi-elemental capacity and high speed/Capacidad bi elemental y alta velocidad
The first thing that stands out about this card is its versatility, as it is bi-elemental, alternating between death and dragon, allowing it to be used even if we only have the death option. The second advantage lies in its stats: 2 magic damage to ranged/magic units is now a crucial attack in Modern, and the most interesting aspect is its high speed, 5 from level 1, which gives it a high evasion rate.
Lo primero que destaca de esta carta es su versatilidad al ser bi elemental alternando entre muerte y dragón, lo que permite usarla si solo contamos con solo la opción muerte. La segunda ventaja está en sus estadísticas, 2 daño de magia a unidades rango/mágico es ahora un ataque determinante en moderno y lo más interesante es la alta velocidad que tiene, 5 desde el nivel 1 lo que le confiere una alta tasa de evasión.
Disadvantages/Desventajas
High mana cost/Alto costo de mana
As his only drawback, Kelan's biggest handicap is his high mana cost, making him an unattractive option in battles with very low or even intermediate mana. Therefore, it is recommended to use him in battles with a mana cap above 35.
Como única desventaja, el mayor impedimento de Kelan es su alto coste de mana, haciéndolo una opción poco atractiva en batallas de muy bajo mana o incluso intermedio. Por lo que se recomienda usarlo en aquellas batallas que tengan un límite por encima de los 35 de mana.
Battle/Batalla
This battle has all the conditions for us to use high-mana-cost cards, so we will use Ulundin Overseer as the main tank and the Meriput Slinger/Grimward Ruinshot pair as ranged attack units, while Kelan Gaines will focus his attacks on the ranged units in the secondary row. In the last position, we will use another promotional card, Warborn Shaman, to finish off the enemy vanguard with overwhelming attacks.
Esta batalla tiene todas las condiciones para que usemos cartas de alto coste de mana, asi que usaremos a Ulundin Overseer como tanque principal y al par Meriput Slinger/Grimward Ruinshot como unidades de ataque rango, mientras Kelan Gaines enfocará sus ataques a las unidades rango en la fila secundaria. En la última posición usamos a otra carta promocional Warborn Shaman para acabar la vanguardia enemiga con ataques contundentes.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 4
The battle boils down to a rapid obliteration of the enemy in the front positions thanks to the high speed of our units, while Kelan Gaines weakens the ranged units in the second position and is quickly eliminated upon reaching the front lines. This coordinated attack is quite effective as long as the tank we use is strong enough to withstand the initial attacks.
La batalla se reduce a una rápida obliteración del enemigo en las primeras posiciones gracias a la alta velocidad de nuestras unidades, mientras que Kelan Gaines va debilitando a las unidades rango en la segunda posición y al llegar a la vanguardia es rápidamente eliminado. Esta coordinación en el ataque es bastante efectivo siempre y cuando el tanque que usemos sea lo suficientemente fuerte para soportar los primeros ataques.
Well, friends, with these two battles we cover the last epic card to be reviewed. Kha'zi Conjurer is definitely a truly powerful card, and if you know how to use it at the right time and with the right adjacent cards, you'll have a lineup with great offensive damage. Kelan Gaines, for his part, is an ideal addition to your deck if you're playing in Modern, and while I've certainly stated my disdain for Rebellion cards, this particular card has the great advantage of being dual-elemental, making it worth investing in at least one copy if you're just starting out in Modern. Bien amigos, con estas 2 batallas cubrimos la última carta épica por reseñar, Kha'zi Conjurer es en definitiva una carta realmente potente y si sabes usarla en el momento adecuado y con las cartas adyacentes correctas, tendrás una alineación con gran daño ofensivo. Por su parte Kelan Gaines es un complemento ideal para tu mazo si estas jugando en moderno y aunque ciertamente he declarado mi desprecio por las cartas Rebellion, esta carta en particular tiene la gran ventaja de ser bi elemental por lo que vale la pena invertir en al menos una copia de esta carta si estas comenzando a jugar en moderno.
