Let's continue with Holozing fanlore! What about the Holocreatures?

Hello trainers!

I've been writing nonstop for the last week trying to piece together some of my fanlore about the world of Holozing and all its rules. I've started from the very basics, or at least the foundations of my two main characters' adventures.

But humans won't be anything in this adventure if there aren't creatures, and I think it's going to be very difficult to differentiate this world from others we see in the industry, some of which many are very familiar with. But let me show you my vision of what Holo-creatures would be like.

Different levels

In the previous post, I explained that my approach to creatures would be in levels or evolutions. The more evolved they are, the stronger, smarter, and more charismatic they would be, essentially much more human-like, or at least with the intelligence of one.

In the mysterious world of Holozing, nothing would be possible without the presence of Holo-creatures. They are the pulse of the earth, the breath of the forests, the roar of storms, and the echo of the unknown.

Expedition Notes

As I said, there are different "levels" of creatures that humans have seen so far. These are divided into:

  • Instinctive

Those creatures that are driven only by their instincts, those that act according to their needs at the moment. They lack the ability to reason or be trained to follow commands or orders, nor are they very powerful.

Let's say this is level 1 of evolution, a basic being that may be small but has the potential to improve.

  • Semi-Sentient

At this level, holo-creatures awaken a sparkle in their eyes: they already understand gestures, signals, and even develop primitive forms of communication. Here things are already getting good, and we could even compare them to versions of creatures from other franchises.

They are capable of forging real bonds with humans and other holo-beings. Therefore, they can learn useful skills and help humans. They aren't overly powerful, but here they are already useful.

  • Sentients

This is where the real magic begins.

The holo-creatures are on their way to reaching human-level intelligence. They not only obey, but also make decisions, opinions, feelings, and build their own identity. They can still be trained by humans, but now they are truly powerful.

Here, the possibilities are endless. Each one develops a unique character: some become brave leaders, others calculating strategists, others free spirits who love exploration.

I want to add one last category, although I'm not sure if it's actually possible or if the devs have ever considered a creature with these characteristics. Well, since it's fanlore and I'm basically making everything up, let's make an exception:

  • Omega - Transcendents

This is a type of creature that humans have yet to encounter at this point, or at least they believe it's all a legend. These creatures surpass all limits of their powers. Let's say they are the representation of what a legendary creature would be.

A transcendent holo-creature doesn't just change shape: it becomes a living archetype, a representation of greater ideas or forces.

They are as rare as they are imposing. Wherever they walk, they leave their mark on the history and culture of Holozing. It's said that the islands are the product of their fights, and the smallest attacks leave their mark on the land.

Humans in all this

I already mentioned in a previous post that humans are in the midst of these expeditions to the elemental islands. The goal is to catalog and capture some of the most powerful creatures to use in their society.

All of these creatures live in different areas of the elemental islands. It's safe to say that the deeper the area, the greater the chances of finding evolved creatures. I'm still not sure how these islands will be divided, but I think we've wrapped up this creature issue pretty well!

Thanks for watching, as always.

Good proposal, there are just a few holes you need to fix. Holozing is a virtual game within its own world, meaning that the creatures of Holozing are not part of the fauna but are a game, like Digimon or Pokémon would be in our world. All of this takes place in the 2040s, so there isn't much point in taking a medieval approach to the matter.
I think you should look a little more to Digimon for inspiration than to Pokémon because the creatures are digital.

Anyway, I find what you're proposing really entertaining. If you like, we can share ideas since there isn't much canon for the game either.
