Jelly Mushroom
(Edited)
Greetings!
Today I am back to publish one of my findings in nature, yesterday on May 21, 2025 and I have added it as one of my observations in the iNaturalist community.
Jelly mushrooms or with the Latin name Guepiniopsis alpina are a species of fungus in the Dacrymycetaceae family. In terms of texture, this herbal medicine is exactly like jelly and when touched it does have that texture.
So far. from several previous discoveries, the shape varies. There are those that are cup-shaped, ears and thick plates like the ones I show here.
They predominantly grow on rotting wood and can grow quickly in moderate rainy weather.
![]() | iNaturalist is a citizen science platform and online social network that allows users to record and share observations about biodiversity, as well as assist in species identification. The platform allows users to upload photos or videos of plants, animals, and other organisms, which can then be identified by a community of other users. In addition, iNaturalist also has an automatic identification feature that uses computer vision to help identify species. |

Never seen anything like it before, though I would've guessed it was some kind of fungus.
Great pics 🤩
Yes. This is jelly mushroom, the texture is chewy like agar agar. I even want to change it raw 😅. Thank you for visiting my post. Glad to see you here :)
Imagine using them for jelly 🤭 It's funny because some these little friends can actually kill you. I could never tell the good from the dangerous.
This type is poisonous and as far as I know no one has ever eaten it. But its adorable texture makes me want to bite it 😅
Poisonous and adorable, haha, well._
Sometimes, what is adorable turns out to be poisonous 😄
Wow! I love these photos. I enjoy finding and eating edible mushrooms 🍄. Mushrooms are fascinating organisms. I often use mushroom figures in my artwork because they look cool. I especially like jelly-like mushrooms, like the ones in your photos. Great shots!
You are right. Mushrooms are interesting and unique organisms. I actually look for and eat mushrooms, because some edible mushrooms taste good.
Thanks for stopping by my post, nice to see you here :)
Whoa, they really looks like jelly, even the color is like of a jelly. This is the rare mushrooms I want to see at home, but I guess they can be found only in a certain place. They are so beautiful!
