Visual adjustments made on Inaturalist. The mushroom I found has the Latin name Gymnopilus liquiritiae. It typically has a fairly large, upright stem with an irregular cap. However, the one I found had wilted due to exposure to the sun.

The stem is white, and the cap is orange-brown. I found it growing on a dead tree trunk. The underside of the cap has a slit-like cavity that resembles gills. The texture is neither hard nor brittle.

I've encountered this type of mushroom several times. It usually grows in clusters and in large numbers. It's often found growing in lowlands with humid temperatures. The cavities on the cap resemble a wasp's nest and look very unique.
