Mycena roseoflava

Several months ago, while exploring one corner of a cocoa garden in the village, I found a small mushroom that immediately caught my attention. The shape is unique, with a soft yellow hood and the underside has a wrinkled texture that looks very attractive under natural lighting. After researching, I suspect this is Mycena roseoflava, a small fungus that often grows in damp, litter-filled environments.

This mushroom grows alone on a small twig that is starting to rot, surrounded by green moss which makes it even more striking. I took several photo angles to capture the details. The bottom of this mushroom, which looks like withered flower petals, actually adds to its appeal.

Moments like this always serve as a reminder that natural beauty can be found in unexpected places. Sometimes we just need to look more carefully at our surroundings, and who knows, there may be small creatures that are ready to become interesting subjects to immortalize.

NOTE: I first wrote the article above in Indonesian, which is my own language, then I translated it using English with the help of Goggle.
