• STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL •

✦ The patch can be any color you want but I recommend brown or black ✦
El primer paso es tomar las piezas de fieltro y asegurarlas con alfileres, luego, con ayuda de un bolígrafo o marcador, traza el contorno de un vaso sobre el fieltro. Esa será tu línea guía.
The first step is to take the felt pieces and secure them with pins, then, with the help of a pen or marker, trace the outline of a glass on the felt. That will be your guide line.
✦ Use red thread to be able to see clearly if I sewed right or wrong on the guide line ✦
Para el segundo paso tienes dos opciones, la primera es cargar una aguja regular con hilo normal y coser con puntadas simples sobre la línea guía que marcaste en el primer paso. La segunda opción, es utilizar una maquina de coser, con puntada recta del numero 3 o 4. En ambos pasos debes dejar una abertura mínima de 2.5 o 3 centímetros respecto a la linea guía que marcaste con el vaso y el bolígrafo o marcador.
For the second step you have two options, the first one is to load a regular needle with normal thread and sew with single stitches on the guide line you marked in the first step. The second option is to use a sewing machine, with straight stitch number 3 or 4. In both steps you must leave a minimum opening of 2.5 or 3 centimeters with respect to the guide line that you marked with the glass and the pen or marker.

Luego, debes recortar el exceso de fieltro en los bordes y dejar un extra de 1 centímetro de material como se aprecia en las fotografías. Esto ayudara que al voltear la pieza sea mas fácil disimular esta abertura.
Then, trim the excess felt at the edges and leave an extra 1 centimeter of material as shown in the pictures. This will make it easier to hide this opening when you turn the piece over.
✦ I like felt better than fabric in this case because felt has more body and is fluffier ✦
Con mucho cuidado, vas a darle vuelta a la pieza hasta obtener un aspecto como el de las fotos guía. Esta parte debes hacerla con paciencia, tomate tu tiempo y extiende bien los bordes.
With great care, you will turn the piece until you get a look like the guide photos. This part must be done with patience, take your time and extend the edges well.

El siguiente paso puede hacerse de nuevo, a mano o con la máquina de coser. Se trata de hacer dos costuras interiores siguiendo la forma circular de la pieza.
The next step can be done again, either by hand or with the sewing machine. This involves making two inside seams following the circular shape of the piece.

No tiene que ser perfecto, ¡mientras mas rustico el resultado, mejor!, ten en cuenta que los accesorios pirata son rústicos; en esta etapa ya tus parches pirata estan listos. Puedes instalar la tira de 30 centímetros de elástico utilizando un poco de silicón caliente o unas puntadas a mano.
It doesn't have to be perfect, the more rustic the result the better, keep in mind that pirate accessories are rustic; at this stage your pirate patches are ready. You can install the 30 centimeter strip of elastic using a little hot silicone or a few hand stitches.
