Greetings, friends. The other day, the community administrator, @equipodelta (Isa), celebrated her birthday. My dear friend Isa has seen many suns rise and set. She was the first person I came into contact with in this community and the first to help and encourage me to continue my art work on Hive, so in a way, it is partly thanks to her that I have my art blog here.

You never know how much you can influence others with your good deeds, so always try to be kind to those who seek to help you, being grateful for the advice they give you or welcoming the suggestions made by those who have more experience than you, because that advice can help you grow a lot. That was my case with Isa, who gave me a lot of advice on several occasions. I listened, and here I am, after several years in the community sharing with her.

Life is to be celebrated, so I think it's appropriate to give her this humble but meaningful gift. Obviously, we're not close, but from a distance, I'm giving this figurine to my friend and mentor, @equipodelta. As is customary in this community, I invite you to see the creative process behind this gift.

Saludos amigos. El otro día la administradora de la comunidad, @equipodelta (Isa), cumplió años. Varias vueltas al sol ha visto mi estimada amiga Isa, quien fue la primera persona con la que tuve contacto en esta comunidad y fue la primera que me ayudó y animó a continuar con mi trabajo de arte en hive, así que si lo vemos de cierta forma, en parte es gracias a ella que tengo mi blog de arte por aquí.

Uno no sabe lo mucho que puede influir en los demás con sus buenas acciones, así que siempre traten de ser buenas personas con aquellos que buscan ayudarlos, siendo agradecidos con los consejos que les dan o recibiendo de buena manera las sugerencias que les hacen aquellos que tienen más experiencia que ustedes, porque esos consejos pueden ayudarlos mucho a crecer. Ese fue mi caso con Isa, quien me dio muchos consejos en varias oportunidades. Yo hice caso y aquí sigo, después de varios años en la comunidad compartiendo con ella.

La vida hay que celebrarla, así que veo oportuno hacerle este humilde pero significativo regalo. Obviamente no estamos cerca, pero en la distancia le regalo esta figurita a mi amiga y mentora, @equipodelta. Como debe ser en esta comunidad, los invito a ver el proceso creativo de este regalo.

First, I should tell you what inspired me. Since it's a gift for Isa, I thought it would be a good idea to take inspiration from one of her drawings. Some time ago, I asked her permission to recreate one of her drawings using plasticine, so in the image below you can see what this drawing would look like as a 3D plasticine figurine:

Primeramente debo comentarles en qué me inspiré. Como es un regalo para Isa, pensé que sería buena idea inspirarme en uno de sus dibujos. Hace tiempo le pedí permiso para hacer uno de sus dibujos pero en plastilina así que en la imagen de abajo pueden observar cómo sería este dibujo hecho como figurita 3D en plastilina:

Step by step

I made this figurine entirely out of plasticine, which is the material I started with in the community and the one I have used most to create figurines and art pieces here at hive.

In addition to plasticine, I used a couple of pieces of wire, glue, cardboard, and a wooden stick to support the figurine.

Paso a paso

Esta figurita la hice enteramente con plastilina, el cual es el material con el que comencé en la comunidad y con el que más he creado figuritas y piezas de arte aquí en hive.

Además de plastilina, usé un par de trocitos de alambre, pegamento, cartón y un palillo de madera para dar soporte a la figurita.

The first thing I did was the body, which is the largest part of the character after the head. I made this by creating a semi-sphere in a grayish color mixed with pink and purple. This was the color I chose for the body.

Lo primero que hice fue el cuerpo, que es la parte más grande del personaje, después de la cabeza. Este lo hice creando una semi esfera de un color grisáceo mezclado con rosado y morado. Este fue el color que elegí para el color del cuerpo.

After that, I made the kitten's legs. I made the front legs like cylinders and the back legs like thick circles. I made the tips of the legs the same color as the body, but mixed with more white to get a lighter color.

I attached all the legs to the body with wire and glue so that they would be well supported, as they are basically the entire base of the character.

Después de esto hice las patitas del gatito. Las patas delanteras las hice cual cilindros y las traseras cual círculos gruesos. La punta de las patitas las hice con el mismo color del cuerpo, pero mezclado con más blanco, obteniendo así un color más claro.

Todas las patitas las pegué al cuerpo con alambres y pegamento, para que tuvieran un buen soporte, pues básicamente es la base total del personaje.

I made the tail as if it were an elongated drop of water, the same color as the body and with the tip a dark purple color. I used a small piece of wire, as with the legs, to attach the tail to the back of the body. I also used glue to give the pieces greater hold.

La cola la hice como si se tratase de una gota de agua alargada, del mismo color del cuerpo y con la punta de la misma de un color morado oscuro. Usé un trocito de alambre, al igual que con las patas, para fijar la cola a la parte trasera del cuerpo. También usé pegamento para dar mayor sujeción a las piezas.

Once the body was finished, I continued with the head. It's like a hood, so that was the initial shape I gave it. I used black plasticine and covered it with light pink plasticine mixed with a little purple. I added more plasticine of this color to the bottom of the hood, for what would be the folds of this hood.

Then I made the face, adding as much detail as possible. Only the eyes and nose, eyebrows, and forehead bow are made of modeling clay; the sparkles in the eyes, blush, and white dots were painted with an ultra-fine brush.

Una vez terminado el cuerpo, continué con la cabeza. Esta es como una capucha, así que esa fue la forma inicial que le di. Usé plastilina negra y la cubrí con plastilina rosa de color claro, mezclada con un poco de morado. Agregué más plastilina de este color en la parte inferior de la capucha, para lo que serían los pliegues de esta capucha.

Luego hice la la cara, la cual agregué la mayor cantidad de detalles posibles. Solo los ojos y la nariz. las cejas y el moño de la frente son de plastilina; los brillos de los ojos, el rubor y los puntitos blancos, fueron pintados con un pincel de punta ultra fina.

Finally, I added this detail that Isa drew on its neck, like a kind of scarf that the kitten is wearing. I left out a few things, but it was impossible to do them because of the size of the figurine. Even so, I think it was a good representation of this kitten.

Looking at the image below, you can get an idea of the size of the kitten from the size of this little piece and my finger.

Finalmente le agregué este detalle que Isa le dibujó en el cuello como una suerte de bufanda que tiene el gatito. Me faltaron algunas cosas pero me fue imposible hacerlas a causa del tamaño de la figurita. Aún así, creo que fue una buena representación de este gatito.

Viendo la imagen de abajo, por el tamaño de esta piecita y mi dedo, se pueden hacer una idea del tamaño del gatito.

Once everything was done, I joined all the pieces together and attached them to a small piece of cardboard, which served to give the whole figurine even more support, so that it would not move out of place, become deformed, and could last longer as a decoration on a shelf...

Una vez hecho todo, uní todas las piezas y las fijé en un pequeño trozo de cartón, el cual sirvió para dar aún más sujeción a toda la figurita, para que no se mueva de su sitio, no se deforme y pueda durar más en el tiempo como un adorno en una estantería...
