The step by step process on how I cut and sew a beautiful short kaftan dress.
Hello needlework
Happy and bless new week and happy needlework Monday, hope you all are doing perfectly well, today i will be sharing with you all on the step by step process of how i cut and sew a beautiful short kaftan dress.
It have been long since i was not able to sew clothes again die to my prenancy health, one month plus now since i put to birth, i dicided to make a free gown, but due to the project i was holding at hand before put to birth i decided to finished it up before going forward with others, i wanted to try this trending kaftan dress, i saw ot every cornar so i didn't have one and i haven't sewn it before, i wanted to sew it by myself without going through online, using my own knowledge to try something is very good, my friend gave me hee traditional marriage uniform but i didn't attend her marriage because i pit to birth the same week of her marriage well, I was so so lucky having my friend's traditional marriage uniform, because immediately she came back from the market people started rushing the uniform, she promised to gave me for free, the fabric looks beautiful.
Since i wanted to combine with black bridal satin, so i brought out the satin with others materials needed.
I pread down the fabric by folding it by two, i drafted down all my necessary measurements and added 3.5 imches for body free allowance and sewing, i took the bubu shoulder measurement, i minus out 2 inches for the black bridal combine then i cut it out.
I firstly start wirh the back cutting because the is just like a shirt cutting, after finishing with the back cutting i fold the fabric again by two i then placed the back on it, i make a v neck at the front side then i cut it out.
I think again after cutting the front, i realized make a very big mistake, i waited for like 5 minutes thinking so i notice that piping the black bridal satin at the middle of the dress needs subtraction, so i subtracted 2 inches from the front shirt point then i cut out the bridal by 2.5 for sewing allowance also, then i measured out the length by excess allowance so that it will be enough for me to use in turning the back neck and it will then i finished with the front final cutting and cut out the bridal also front pieces ans turned it properly.
After finishing with all the cuttings i went on joining the shoulder feont and back together and i also joining the body.
I now used the front bridal pieces that was prepared and turned the front shirt point, i indicate the middle point of the back side then also douch the middle point of the black then i placed the middle to middle point together and start joining.
After finishing the middle point i cut out the bridal by 2.5 pieces and i joined it on the sleeves hem part then i close the hamhole.
Here is the outcome of the kaftan dress.
It came out so nice and beautiful, despite my first time in making this style it really came out beautiful, i love it and i hope you love it too.
Thanks so much for reading through my post.
