Diy of An African print Fabric Jacket for my Ladies
Hello Hive
A peaceful evening to my friends and loved ones onchain, I hope that our day went well and we were able to achieve some tangible making good use of our time today.

This evening I want to share with my community the making process of this pretty African print fabric Jacket I made for myself. I had a privilege of meeting this very lovely pretty African print fabric and have been exploring different ways I can sew an outfit with it to bring out the best out of the fabric.

Sometimes it's about the fabric we work with and other times it is about the design yet a combination of good fabric and our creative design can bring out the best of every fabric. You can pick up a not attractive fabric and sew it to become something attractive by your design and other times you can make a design out of certain fabrics which will not bring out the best of the fabric.
For a fabric as lovely as this I have to creatively thing of what design will make the fabric more appealing and enhance it's acceptance more.
I realized that I didn't have a Jacket and some casual wear that are very useful for a lady. There are certain categories of wears I believe that every lady should have and this kind of am after dress Jacket should be among them, you can wear the jacket on basically anything be it pants or a sleeveless dress .

This is the pretty after dress design I later make of this very fabric. An African print Fabric Jacket is one design I have admired for so long and today I decided to fulfil that dream to sew myself that very same design.

I started by Cutting the back piece of the dress with a higher neckline of 2.5" by 1.5" depth and width since this will be a jacket.
Next I placed the back on front piece and cut out the front piece of the jacket here..
Then I cut out a simple straight sleeve using my body sleeve measurements

And a flair that will be attached to the sleeve
I repeated thesame methods cutting exactly the same pattern for the linings then I proceeded with the stitching

I used the linings to turn the necklines over and then joined the shoulders and side seamlines.

The last thing I did was to attach the sleeves and our jacket is ready.

I love the fact that this jacket can be worn with any color of inner wear , be it a dress or a camisole as the fabric is a pretty one that I had earlier used to sew a short.
Wow! This design is very original and wonderful. You've made a dress that's a true work of art! Congratulations.
