Saludos querida comunidad #needlworkmonday, hoy estoy muy contenta porque les comparto un proyecto en una técnica que nunca le había mostrado antes, en el pasado ya yo le había mostrado como hacer parche con figuras con tejidos en dos agujas, pero este es otro método para obtener un resultado igual de lindo, yo conocía esta técnica, pero solo la había aplicado solo para detalles muy pequeños, por lo tanto esta es mi primera vez haciendo un proyecto completo con este método.

Se trata del “punto duplicado”, el cual consiste que sobre un tejido en dos agujas con punto jersey se borda una figura imitando las puntadas del jersey, por consiguiente, los puntos se duplican, es un método bastante entretenido y por supuesto se sigue un patrón cuadriculado como ocurre con técnicas parecidas como el punto cruz o el macramé. En esta ocasión escogí un patrón de pixeles que encontré online con la imagen de Luffy el protagonista del anime One Piece, al finalizar usé el parche para decorar una gorra para mi hijo, él se emocionó mucho con este detalle 😊

Greetings, dear #needlworkmonday community! Today I'm very happy to share a project with you using a technique I've never shown you before. In the past, I've shown you how to make a patch with figures using knitting needles, but this is another method to achieve an equally beautiful result. I was familiar with this technique, but I'd only used it for very small details, so this is my first time doing a complete project using this method.

It's called "duplicate stitch." This involves embroidering a figure on a piece of knitting needles using stockinette stitch, imitating the stitches of a stockinette. Therefore, the stitches are doubled. It's a very entertaining method, and of course, it follows a grid pattern, as is the case with similar techniques like cross stitch or macramé. This time, I chose a pixel pattern I found online featuring Luffy, the protagonist of the anime One Piece. When I finished, I used the patch to decorate a cap for my son; he was very excited about this detail 😊

Proceso / Process

Para este trabajo usé hilo acrílico y dos agujas de 2mm, con el color de base monté 32 puntos en la aguja, luego hice 44 hileras de punto jersey, el punto jersey se hace tejiendo en las hileras impares todos los puntos al derecho y en las hileras impares se tejen todos los puntos al revés, los puntos de orillo se hacen pasando el primero a la aguja sin tejer y tejiendo el último punto al revés. Cerré las putadas y por último con un ganchillo de 1.25mm hice una hilera de puntos bajos por todo el borde, luego planché el parche.

For this project I used acrylic yarn and two 2mm needles, with the base color I cast on 32 stitches on the needle, then I made 44 rows of stockinette stitch, stockinette stitch is made by knitting all the stitches on the odd rows and purling all the stitches on the odd rows, the edge stitches are made by passing the first stitch to the needle without knitting and purling the last stitch. I cast off the pieces and finally with a 1.25mm crochet hook I made a row of single crochet stitches around the entire edge, then I ironed the patch.

Con una aguja de ojal grande tomé hilo negro y empecé a tejer los puntos duplicados, el punto jersey tiene la forma de una V, entonces con la aguja se introduce de atrás hacia el frente en la parte inferior de la V, luego se pasa el hilo por las dos puntas de la V y se introduce de nuevo por el mismo punto inicial.

With a large eyelet needle I took black yarn and began to knit the duplicate stitches, the stockinette stitch has the shape of a V, then with the needle you insert it from back to front in the lower part of the V, then you pass the yarn through the two points of the V and insert it again through the same initial point.

Al finalizar con el hilo negro la figura quedó con todo el contorno listo, por lo fue mucho más fácil rellenar con demás colores haciendo los puntos duplicados siguiendo el patrón.

When we finished with the black thread, the figure had the entire outline ready, so it was much easier to fill in with other colors by making duplicate stitches following the pattern.

Escondí las hebras por detrás, planché y por último con el mismo color de hilo de fondo cosí el parche a la gorra 😊

I hid the threads behind, ironed them, and finally, using the same color of background thread, I sewed the patch onto the cap 😊
