The Crochet Obsession - Red Crochet Top

Greetings Friends

Finally back with some more crochet craziness. I truly do love it. This week, after feeling a bit down, I decided that this would be the perfect 'cheer up' project. Maybe that is the key to surviving life, staying busy and getting things done. Better than sleeping all day either way.

This was my first attempt, which I ended up not having the right colours for and making a little bit too small. So I started over.

I had a lot of trouble getting decent photos but attempted to do a few from different angles to at least try and show the top nicely. I love the way it ties in the back.

Sides of top. Definitely not perfect. I would like to attempt it again and fix my mistakes. Also, it would look much better in black, maybe with some chains and a few other embellishments.

Well that's it for now. Till next time!

View or trade LOH tokens.

@hellsveiah, You have received 1.0000 LOH for posting to Ladies of Hive.
We believe that you should be rewarded for the time and effort spent in creating articles. The goal is to encourage token holders to accumulate and hodl LOH tokens over a long period of time.

That looks really good ! I could see it working in black with the red skirt, but it might be a bit too much with the black one.

Gold or silver would work well with either, but I have to admit to being a magpie and loving anything shiny and twinkly 😁 Sad that I haven't found a golden or silver wool yet that's soft rather than scratchy or plasticky. But I guess sheep with golden fleeces are the stuff of myth (and prehistoric Cornish or Caucasian mining).

Thanks! I also have a fondness of shiny things. The gold/silver wool is definitely not easy to find, though I have in the past substituted very thin soft golden ribbons for wool, it doesn't work for every project but can sometimes look very cool.

You'd love a shop I went into a few years ago. Hands Embroidery (although back then they were Hand and Locke). They used to be in Kentish Town, but have moved to Romford since then.

Their shop was like Aladdin's cave ! Lots of wooden drawers full of gold braid (mylar and metal types), fringing and ribbon. They make insignia for uniforms and theatre, as well as selling the loose components, and it's just amazing ! For every item they have on their website, they had three or four more hidden away if you knew what to ask for..... Oh, and the walls were decorated with large photos of people wearing their stuff. Mostly South American and African generals and police chiefs with more bling and medals than chest to put them on 😁

It sounds amazing! 🤩 Definitely going to need to find a way to visit the shop someday, always better to see that kind of place in person rather than online.

This is beautiful. It goes well with the black and red skirt. I think it would go well with a white skirt as well. Nice and beautiful 😍
