I made my mum a beautiful outfit with dramatic rose sleeve design
Hello hivers and fellow creative needle workers, who else gets excited when it's another #needleworkmonday, I sure am as it helps us relate well with our creations. I hope we all have a great day and wish everyone a wonderful week ahead.
I made a post recently about how my mum never used to like wearing any outfit with the color red or black, but all that has changed now and I made her this beautiful red colored blouse and skirt with touches of other colors and a dramatic rose effect attached to the sleeves, she couldn't take her eyes off the outfit the moment she saw it and was very pleased and felt beautiful when she tried to on, all biased feeling she had about the red color is all gone now and I'm always happy to make her beautiful dresses with the red coloured pattern fabrics to make her appreciate this beautiful color the more.
One aspect I love most about this outfit is the dramatic rose effect, it looks complicated to the sight at first but the making process is so easy, and that is what I will be focusing on today. To make this rose effect, I cut out a flare with my preferred radius measurement, note that the bigger the radius, the longer length you get,
Next, I measured out my required length, the longer the length, the bolder the rose looks, after which I started twisting and hand-tacking the flare with my needle and thread from within to outwards adjusting it in between to get the desired result.

For the blouse, it's a six pieces cut out pattern blouse, to spice it up because I don't like boring outfits, I designed the red with the ankara patterned fabric, and also used a lace fabric for the three-quarter sleeves, and finally addedd rhinestones for more sparkles.
The smile on my mum's face is all the satisfaction I need to keep me going, and I'm glad she finally let go of that phobia for colour red and tradition she grew up with, also allowing us her children dress in the colors we prefer.

It’s such a nice dress and fits her well. You can tell by her smile exactly how happy she is to wear it.
It was neat seeing how the dress form came together through your photos. I love that rose detail.
