Dress to pants

Good day everyone, welcome to my blog

I never believed in the saying that our taste change as we grow till recently. Before now, I used to feel comfortable in dresses and skirts, they used to be my go to style of fashion anytime, any day.

I can't really say this was how it started, one thing I realized recently is that I feel more comfortable wearing pants. I now prefer pants to any kind of type of style. My love for paints this daysis so much that if I had not gotten married, my weeding dress would have been a pant.

After this discovery, I went through my wardrobe and saw this blue dress with a beautiful material that I sew last year but worn only a few times then I decided to convert it into yet another pair of pants to add to my collection.

I must be sincere one of the toughest job a seamstress doesn't talk much about is restyling. It was stressful restyling this dress into a pant but it's a stress I really enjoyed because it opens my eyes to other way of doing things and how to manage the resources at my disposal.

Realizing that the material will not give me the needed size for my lap, I decided to join two inches fabric the side of the back cut. Then I had more inches to work with.

The length of the fabric was not up to my pant length so I joined another two inches up to make the band and to inches down to turn the down part in and it came out well.

I spent more days on this project because I needed to iron the joining I made and electric power was not available. I took my time and at the end of the day I am glad that the project came out well.

Thank you for taking your time to read through, Yours truly @elizy, a teacher, mother and passionate writer

Enjoy today while it last, tomorrow is not promised.

The transformation is lovely. I'm also an everyday pant person, as I feel more comfortable in them than a skirt.

Transformation and recycling tasks are often a different kind of challenge and you have proved yourself equal to the task. You did a good job with this.
Well done and thanks for sharing.
I love the blue fabric print and the Dior logo.
