Cutting and sewing of stylish dress for my little princess of my sister
Hello hive
Greetings to all my NEEDLEWORK FAMILY, hope You had a lovely night rest , it’s the dawn of another blessed
last week was so much hectic for me, mother’s are really trying a lot my brother and my sister bring their children over for me to cater for doing the short break they have in school, now I know what motherhood is all about this short period they stay with me . shouting and I Adley have enough rest to myself but what can I do. I'm actually practicing ahead soon I will become a mother.
Today I'll be showing you how I made this beautiful dress for my princess and mixture of the fabric really being out the style out
step1 taking her body measurement
should 12
bust. 25
wasit 23
half length 12
empire line 18
hip. 29
knee length 25
fullent of the dress 32
step two cutting process
folding the fabric into two to cut out the front panel input all the horizontal line then proceed to the vertical line divided the bustline waistline , hipline by 4 then from the knee measurement I subtract 2inches for hip measurement connect the point together then cut and place it on the folded path to cut out the back panel I leave 2inches before placing the front panel that will serve as zipper allowance and for The neck I used 3by3 for the front and back I used 3by1
I also cut out some pieces for the bet.
step three sewing processing
sew the lining to the front and back of the main cloth and turn it out giving it a good press putting of daft to the front and back clothes.
proceed to the bet I cut out four pieces two of each length is 13inches and width is 7inches on fold and the other two, length of 15inches and width of 3.5inches sewn the sides and turn out.
before fixing up the zipper I attached one part from the zipper area to the front and I do the same thing to the other side and the longer pieces was attach to side at front area and the other one to the second part so the bet is coming from the zipper area to the front side and I fix in the zip to the dress.
step four cutting out of the flare
I cut two 360° flare for the down dress so far I will not be lining up their part and I want it to be Fuller at that area I use a chiffon flowering material to cut out the flare.
I fold in the chiffon fabric into two then fold it again making four time I folded it. then from the edge of the folding I come down by 2.5inches all round and for the length 9inches for the joining to the main body and the heming of the flare then cut place it on the folded part to cut out the same size after that I joined the two together and hem the down part before attaching it to the dress.
