The Way It Used to Be

There's a strange feeling that comes when one is swimming with our finny ancestors. It's like visiting old relatives. Grandpa octopus will tell you to stop sniffing so much oxygen. Auntie dolphin will chitter-chatter and mingle with sleek grace. Let us not forget uncle shark who will open his big mouth about a topic nobody asked him anything about and start an argument. As the mutant in the family tree, everyone will look at you mystified but resigned. Ah, family life in the ocean.

Oh, such a humorous and vivid metaphor! I love this kind of "proud" feeling--everyone looks at me mystified but resigned...They needn't understand me...
