New blossoms

Hello everyone!
My name is Laura, and it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to share with a community that has such a special purpose.

I’d like to tell you that I’m an emigrant; I’ve been living in Brazil for two years now, and every time I mention that number, I feel a huge weight on my shoulders — the weight of change, of nostalgia, of adapting to a place that welcomes me, but where I don’t yet feel I belong.

Still, I always try to find beauty and inspiration in every situation I go through, as well as in the places I step into.
I’m very much someone who believes in energy and in paying attention to the small details of life, in order to find that beauty I’m talking about.

This September, spring began here in the southern hemisphere. While my family up north watches the leaves fall, I’m down here enjoying the rain and the new blossoms. I see it all as a symbol of new beginnings — of trial and error. And that’s exactly what my September has been: new opportunities to start from scratch. Almost every day feels like a challenge.

There’s the pressure of meeting the expectations of those back home who think that simply leaving the country means guaranteed success — even though that’s not what drives me, it still feels like a social burden. I’m also haunted by the fear of falling behind in life. I’ve had to start over several times, and I’ve felt like the “future” keeps slipping further away.

But this spring feels a little different. The end of another cycle seems closer. Some of the dreams and details I once envisioned are finally happening. Of course, there are ups and downs — but the rain falls and the sun shines for my flowers.

And that’s what it’s all about. I don’t try to idealize anything, but I do try to fill my days with love.
I’m embracing my nostalgia and my tired eyes. I hold on to the hope of seeing my loved ones soon, even if we’re no longer the same.

I hope that what I’ve shared here can mean something to you. 🌸
