Good news everyone!

I have started a new course with University of Cape Town for an online course in Project Management!

This is in response to myself forging ahead and moving over to new things at work. I already did project management, generally for the site that I am stationed on or whatever site needed the most direct control. But it has become extremely important for me to get involved in more sites and to manage several of them at the same time!

Also, there is a perception issue with the one boss and even some of the staff and thus having a certificate and a technical skill in Project Management it will make me valuable, more respect from that manager and the ability to take projects at work and turn them into successful Projects, instead of the way we mismanage some of the sites that we have been running lately.

Critical Stats:

This is a 10 week long course. It costs R16,600 or roughly $920. It will require around 7-10 hours weekly to complete the tasks but I feel as though, initially, this will be more than that.

Now, the cost of this course is covered by my boss. I am really glad about that because it is a show of support and loyalty and I am happy to make sure it goes both ways.

I also intent to use this opportunity to advance myself professionally as much as possible and join all governing bodies and institutions that are applicable.

I am still interested in keeping my professional registrations in HSE going, but I want to register as a Construction Project Manager at SACPCMP while keeping my CHSO Registration.

Well... it allows me to dream a little bit... but I am managing both my expectations and procrastination there by not dreaming and job hunting too strongly yet.

I need to finish this course first while working full time! One thing at a time!
