My Mobile Phone Disaster

Source

Disaster struck once more, and unfortunately, technology is not built to last. A small fall from desk level to the floor of my lounge area has broken my phone screen once again. This time, it happened at home, and I'm faced with the financial burden of repairing it. The original quote for the repair was R1,500 (approximately $82), but I managed to negotiate the price down to R1,250 (approximately $68). I don't have the money for this kind of breakage, and it's frustrating to have to shell out such a large amount.

I dropped my phone two nights ago, and my daughter took it in for repair yesterday morning. Fortunately, I got it back swiftly, and I didn't have a massive interruption to my phone usage. My phone is crucial for both work and my blockchain activities, so I need it to be functioning properly. I'm grateful that the repair shop was able to fix it quickly, but now I'm left with the financial implications.

I could have lied about where the phone broke, as it has happened twice before at work and the company would have covered the cost. However, I don't make a habit of lying. Once you start down that path, it can be challenging to stop. Moreover, creating a false narrative requires keeping track of the lie, and I'm convinced that it's only a matter of time before someone discovers the truth. To me, the value of my integrity far outweighs the cost of the phone repair.

I'm now in a tight spot financially, having had to borrow money from my household budget to cover the repair cost. I've had to delay paying my clothing account and internet bill, which I'll now pay over the weekend. Unfortunately, I'll be short on cash at the end of the month. If anyone has any ideas for a series I can create on the blockchain to help me make up for this loss, I'd greatly appreciate it. Any suggestions or advice would be welcome, as I'm eager to find a solution to this financial problem and get back on track.

Cheers!

Ouch !

Sounds like you should write a series on lifehacks to get by when funds are insanely tight. Any surplus can go towards getting one of those rubber mobile phone cases (they're not that expensive on Amazon). 😀

I think I shall do that! Lifehacks for when funds are tight... that is me all the time!

I already do have a cover around the phone... it usually protects is fine... But I had just taken it out of the casing and it slipped right out of my hands! Meh!

That sounds a lot like gremlins striking..... 😉 Evil little buggers. Bob Calvert wrote a great song about them all the way back in 1974.

It fell before in its lifetime... that might also have contributed.

Tshii, my friend, bad luck never comes alone.🫣

Maybe you need a more robust, drop-proof cell phone.

So, I'm contributing 5 HIVE to help with the loss. It's very little, maybe it's only enough for one screw, but it's a symbolic help. Receive it as a friendship.

Don't despair, life goes on 💪

Thank you so much for the 5 HIVE! I shall count that against the R1250! So around...R18 and thus R1232 to go!

Thank you so much again!

I'm so sorry your phone has to break again , I have been here once or twice. Also I like the fact that you choose being truthful on it.
As for series, I don't know what you might come up with but you should check out this event threespeak is putting for , they needs writers for some kinda stories . I have forgotten where I saw the link, but you can check it out on their blog

Yo dude, perhaps try out Galenkp's Weekend Experiences Comp. Neoxian also has some prompts and Silverbloggers is doing a favorite colour prompt. Not too sure if that's still running.

Been meaning to call to check in, so will try later today
