Hive Theft Alert: I just got robbed. [Eng+Spa] Alerta de Robo en Hive: Me acaban de robar.

Today I made a mistake that is costing me dearly. I have a slow head due to recent illnesses, and through carelessness I fell into a scam in which I gave my Active Key from my Hive account to another user.

Now, it transferred all the liquidity I had in my account, both in HBD and Hive.

I'm figuring out how to change the password so I don't lose everything, but I don't know the process well, and the little I've been reading makes me fear that because of my mistake I may lose everything I've worked on in recent years.

I am going to explain how it happened, but I warn you that you should NOT do these steps or your account will be stolen by these criminals. It all started with a comment message that was made to me on my previous post.

Ahora, transfirió todo lo que tenía de liquidez en mi cuenta, tanto en HBD como en Hive.

Estoy averiguando como hacer para cambiar la clave para no perder todo, pero no sé bien el proceso, y lo poco que llevo leyendo me hace temer que debido a mi error puede que pierda todo lo que he trabajado en los últimos años.

Voy a explicar cómo sucedió, pero doy alerta que NO deben hacer estos pasos o su cuenta será robada por estos criminales. Todo comenzó con un mensaje de comentario que me hicieron en mi anterior post.

After ruining things with my mistake of giving the Active Key, I realize that a transfer was made from my wallet. A transfer that I have not made. @der.prophet account stole from me both HBD and what I had of liquid Hive using my active key for transfers.

Ya leí todo, primero te respondí rápido para que cambies tus claves, pero tranquilo que tu cuenta estará a salvo. Ese dinero se recupera. Tienes lo más importante y lo mayor.

Lo que veo es no hizo power down ni retiró de HBD ahorros, así que tal parece que ni gastará energía en eso, porque no tiene la clave maestra y no te puede quitar la cuenta.

Lo otro es que cambies tu cuenta de recuperación. La tienes con steem

Te dejo un tutorial. Hazlo a una cuenta de confianza, sobretodo que sepas que estará activa en Hive, disponible en una emergencia y que no perderá sus claves. (No tendrá acceso a tu cuenta tranquilo) se necesitan las dos cuentas para recuperar y tendría 30 días para recuperar.

Con esto del robo y el hecho de que ya venía enfermo, caí como en un estado depresivo paralizante, así que no he hecho nada de lo debería haber hecho, hoy es que mi hermano me sacudió y me sentó para que me pusiera a trabajar y dejara la depresión, que con pura tristeza no voy a resolver nada y necesito arreglar todo para que no me siguán robando.

Adding to my mistakes is that I have never changed the recovery account since we were on the steem blockchain, so not having fixed that takes its toll on me now.

Thank you. I'm coming out of my state of "mental shutdown" (a mix of nervous depression, sadness and having been sick) and today I sit down to work on fixing things.

I know that I spent too much time, but I had no idea at all, having your mind in "low energy" is not good at all.

They already told me that what the thief has is my active password, so as long as he does not have my owner password, the account does not need to use the recovery account.
It's my turn to change my passwords so that the thief no longer has access to my wallet.

Don't worry, having a Steem account isn't costing you anything in this case. That's for when someone steals your account by changing your passwords. There was no password change here, so you still have control of your account.

Let's hope you never need to use your recovery account.

Saludos. Lamento esa perdida amigo, pero hay solución, por lo.menos tienes tu cuenta aún. Haz lo que te dice Danielvehe en su comentario. Es la única forma en que no sigas perdiendo dinero. Cambia tus claves como allí se te indica.

Estuve enfermo y caí además en un estado depresivo, hoy es que me sacudió mi hermano y me sentó para que trabaje en arreglar este desastre.
Voy a revisar el tutorial que me compartió danielvehe y procuraré cambiar la clave activa para que el ladrón ya no me pueda robar más.

Hermano, si usted conserva la clave propietario en el wallet de HIVE.BLOG, usted puede generar nuevamente TODAS las claves.

OJO, solo si su clave propietario no ha sido modificada. A mí me pasó hace un par de años y desde entonces, anualmente, cambio todas mis claves.

Ahora, si no dispone de de la clave de propietario, tendrá que asignar una cuenta nueva de recuperación y seguir los pasos indicados que le han suministrado otros compañeros.

Si tengo la clave propietaria y el estafador no la obtuvo, así que creo que tu consejo de generar nuevas claves es la mejor solución para mi.
Disculpa lo tardío de la respuesta, estuve en una mezcla de enfermedad y estado depresivo que me dejó tirado en estos días, así que hoy es que me he puesto a trabajar en resolver este lío.

So sorry about this, and of a truth, I did got scammed too. I even made a post about it here just the other day, just so to warn the public.

But then, it is well. Sorry about your illness too. I hope you get better soon.
Now, the only thing that can be done is for you to change your keys, if you make use of peakd, just click on the three dots beside your profile settings, it will bring options, click on keys and permissions and then change password. You will need your owner/master key to do that, and all your keys will be changed. Then you can save them in a more safer place, relogin and continue.

This is so serious, I almost fall a victim two days ago. When I was following the steps they send me, at the point they ask for my active key something tells me that I need to be careful so I pause, check to see other people's comments but noticed there is no single comment, then I knew it is a scam, so I ran.
This is so painful couple with your poor health condition. When I change my keys sometimes ago I used PeakD front-end which it explains better with the guidance @flaxz gave me. You can try it and follow up with the guides.

Yo ya estaba enfermo, y con esto sumado, caí en un estado de tristeza y de impotencia que me dejó como que en nivel de depresión.
Hoy fue que mi hermano me terminó de sacudir para que me pusiera a trabajar en arreglar este desastre para cambiar las claves y que el ladrón no tenga ya acceso a mi billetera.

this is serious I did misplaced my keys one time ago in ecency waves I had copied it and didn't realise it was still the last item on my clipboard, pasted it without preview in seconds I couldn't edit it I tried login in with different keys didn't work immediately I reached out to ecency and thankGod @melinda010100 responded and helped me change the keys, please we all need to be careful hive is not doing anything like air drops or loyalty programs ...hive is purely decentralized no body is running any such thing here please these scams is becoming too much to bare let's be careful

I believe changes were made to prevent us from being able to post our keys accidentally in comments.

please ma'am let me also bring to your noticed before now using ecency wasn't an issue ....but since the upgrade I still need to copy my keys up and down. .

if I want to do any transaction or claim rewards I need to copy my active key with that I can't comment or make any post at all which I must go out to copy my posting key again, I just did that in order for this comment to go through if not the feedback will be "ecency doesn't have the authority to do whatever i action i need at that point" ...

@ecency is just my favorite front-end i use often but this recent changes is making that experience difficult

I am logged into Ecency with my active key. It is necessary to do any financial transaction on Hive.

You can put your active key into Hivesigner or Keychain and that should work too.

It was good that you got effective help and were able to resolve everything.
In previous comments @melinda010100 has advised me what to do, so as soon as I read and respond to the remaining comments, I will work on changing my account passwords.
Luckily the thief doesn't have my owner key, so changing my keys shouldn't be too difficult for me.

Gracias por el abrazo. Me viene bien con lo deprimido que quedé, al sumar los coletazos de enfermedad, y la impotencia que me generó todo esto, quedé como paralizado en un estado de depresión.

Hoy es que mi hermano me terminó de sacudir de obligarme a que me siente a resolver todo esto.

Por los consejos en comentarios anteriores, creo que la solución no es tan complicada, aunque si es un procedimiento que hay que hacer con cuidado porque no se recupera si cometo algún error estúpido, o si se me cae el servicio eléctrico en medio de las operaciones de recuperación.

En verdad que yo venía de estar enfermo, y la impotencia que me dejó este evento me sumió en una depresión paralizante, hoy es que mi hermano me logró sacudir para que me pusiera a trabajar en resolver las cosas.

Por lo que leo en los comentarios anteriores que me dan indicaciones, puede que la solución sea más sencilla de lo que yo pensaba, pero antes de hacer nada voy a sentarme a revisar mejor los tutoriales, luego de que termine de responder a los amables comentarios que me hicieron y no he revisado hasta hoy.

Do you still have your password or owner key?

If so, reach out, I can help you change keys. I don't need to know any key from you. I will just show you the process and you can then change the keys yourself. Don't give private keys to ANYONE ever!

Your account is not lost, but you need to react soon. Unsure who is @soltecno, but the recovery account has been requested to change to this. You have 30 days until this becomes permanent.

I do have my owner's key, and my stupidity did not reach the point of giving it to the thief (thank goodness).

I appreciate the offer of help and guidance, I'm going to try to reset the keys from the classic HiveBlog wallet, if it doesn't work (or I can't understand how to do it), I'll try it from the PeakD frontend... And if my clumsiness doesn't allow me to do it here either, then I'm going to have to bother you to ask for guidance.

Espero solucionar esto reseteando las claves. Ciertamente que estos ladrones saben como hacer sus delitos, pero me duele caer, además de que me siento tonto por caer en algo como esto luego de tener años caminando en esto de las blockchains.

En fin, cualquiera puede meter la pata, el asunto ahora es sacar esa pata del hueco y seguir adelante.

It's really sad that someone stole from you. And it's very annoying for me that someone copied my account and other Hivians are angry with me. Please see if you can find your master key so you can create new passwords on Peakd. It's not very complicated, so please do it as soon as possible.

Que dolor @pedrobrito2004 lamento muchísimo que estés pasando por esta situación. Como aconsejan los amigos, lo mas urgente ahora es cambiar las claves por unas nuevas, espero ya lo hayas logrado y te encuentres hoy mas tranquilo y tu cuenta mas segura.

Lamento mucho la pérdida de tus token, ningún usuario se merece eso 🥺 gracias por compartir tu caso y advertir a la comunidad. En la antigua cadena recuerdo que los intentos de pishing eran frecuentes y re peligrosos, no espere ver esto regresar en pleno 2026 💔

Estos estafadores supieron como montar las cosas. Y me molesté un poco conmigo mismo por caer en un truco tan viejo (y tan estúpido).

Me estoy poniendo dentro de un rato a hacer los cambios para poder resetear mis claves.
