The air was filled with so much emotion and tension. The afternoon sky slowly darkened, as if it was also holding a secret that had yet to be revealed. In the small hall of the village, dozens of residents gathered in silence, waiting for a decision that would change their lives.

In the middle of the crowd, Mr. Ranu stood with his fists clenched. His face was stern, but his eyes conveyed anxiety. Across from him, Mrs. Sari, who had always been known to be gentle, spoke loudly defending her opinion. The long-ignored land conflict had now reached its peak, involving family, neighbors, and even the village head.

Every sentence that was uttered was like lightning striking, heating the air that had long held the burden. The children stopped playing. The birds no longer chirped. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath.

Suddenly, the crisp voice of a small child broke the tension. “Why is everyone angry? Aren’t we one village?” Everyone turned. Silence. For a moment, as if there was a crack in the wall of emotions that had been built for years.

And the rain fell, slowly, washing away the dust from the streets and perhaps also from frozen hearts.
