Eccencials, excited to share with you great new addition into Ecency.com. Major news, you can now upload and manage videos on Ecency powered by 3Speak. Check this out on How to upload videos. Thanks to 3Speak team and their efforts to open doors and bring this into wider community. As video hosting network gets more decentralized, we expect to offer more and more functionality with videos, shorts/reels, special feeds, etc. We made a lot of other improvements and bug fixes, see below for more technical changelog details.

In another news, Desktop app got its last version as well. As we move forward with development, we felt our efforts well spend maintaining and improving leaner source code. With that consideration, we will be gradually offering PWA instead of dedicated desktop app which works almost the same way but much more intuitive and supported by wider range of devices.

This is just freaking HUGE news! I love it.

But not to frown on the awesome news of video uploads with the fact that you're killing the desktop app. Thats very bad news for me and a few others.
I do not like PWA's or web browsers.

So, video is uploaded to 3speak through the Ecency front-end? Sounds good. I've not been on 3speak in years. I felt like 3speak was doing better than Dtube & Dlive meaning this sounds like good news depending on file size limits and how long videos may stay up on 3speak. I felt like some of my videos on Dtube would no longer play after some months. I have not tested 3speak in years to see. I don't know how 3speak compares with YouTube, TikTok, Rumble, Odysee, Bitchute, etc.

It's a great update! I was waiting for this. I already tried it. The only little thing I'm currently missing is that the set thumbnail picture does not appear in the video.

I just tried, it works fine, the thumbnail pic is there. However, this time the 'All' filter didn't show the encoded video. So I uploaded 1 more time, still didn't see. I checked on 3speak. That showed both. Tried to refresh on ecency, but nothing. After I clicked to the 'Encoded' filter in ecency, then I saw both... now I don't know how to delete the 2nd one, as it's not posted, I can't even delete it in 3speak. Maybe a dumb question. Do you know how to delete?

This update about forcing the memo for exchange profiles was very good and is an extra validation that will certainly help.

I would like to propose one more, in which I even hesitated and was a victim, which would be to block the sending of HBD and ecency points to the deepcrypto8 profile, for example, because many users in a hurry and lack of attention send HBD directly to it and lose your money, because even talking to binance like I did, we didn't recover that HBD.

A lock, which apparently is easy to do like the one in the memo and from what I saw on github, would be really cool so that we don't lose our hard-earned HBD. Thank you for your attention, a big hug!

Hello, @ecency. An unrelated question. It looks like images.ecency.com service, or whatever is behind it, has some problems and it lost some images or access to them. Can you check, please? Thank you very much.

We are migrating some images from old server, due to many files migration taking bit longer than anticipated. They will be restored for sure, no worries.

Yes, we agree. Unfortunately images on Hive stored either on images.hive.blog or images.ecency.com. There is plan to make it decentralized, we will see how it develops.
