Independence: My drive - LOH #252

Heyooo ladies and gents.... It's my first time participating in the community's contest and ohhh.... am I glad to be here 😊.

I came across a quote by Socrates, "knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom", which is as true as truth. Knowing oneself is simply being aware of your strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, feelings, motivations and demotivations. It's all about knowing you.

I know myself well enough to discern between what drives me and what pulls me back. Given the unpredictability of life, that perfectly perfect plan can still go haywire and worst still, at the moment you feel you have scaled through. When this happens, we long for motivation and me.... I seek it through independence.

Being able to make decisions for myself and take charge of my aspirations as I try to pull through whatever challenges life throws at me does the trick. Independence comes with a feeling of freedom whereby I'm able to do this and that without having to run to anyone and lay down my goals and plans for them to review, adjust and all.

In the same vein, knowing that these decisions of mine determine a whole lot about my future and life in general, leaves me with no room for recklessness but rather thorough, meticulous and conscious actions and decisions. I'm pushed to give in my all in order to advocate for a better life for myself which will in one way or the other, surely extends to my close ones.

Even though I appreciate support and encouragement from people who care, I just happen to be someone who values self motivation. So whenever I feel stuck and stagnant at any phase of my life , I first off obtain the motivation I desire from within before looking for external cheers.

However, being independence doesn't limit me from reaching out to others at times when I'm overwhelmed. Neither does it stop me from maintaining a great relationship with them. I would like to say it just helps me to know at what point to lean on others.

Yes.... passion is a great motivator but I've had a few situations in my life when I ended messing up things that I was passionate about.
Or maybe I wasn't just passionate enough???
Either way I choose independence. It works just well for me, keeps me focused and on that path that will lead to a successful outcome.

I love how you talk about independence as your drive It feels real and strong to know yourself and trust your own path. Your words remind me that being able to act from within brings clarity and confidence It is powerful that you still value support but choose to tap into your own strength first, that balance feels peaceful and true.

Thanks for sharing this, it made me reflect on how I draw my own drive too

Yhh I love the feeling of having a solid trust in my own capabilities then asking for help from others when needed cause in this life, nobody knows it all. At one point or the other, someone else's helping hand might be the finishing touch you need.

Thanks a lot for popping in Temmy 🥰. I really appreciate.

At the end of the day, the most powerful push you’ll ever receive is the one you give yourself. :)

I love that quote ,knowing oneself is the beginning of Wiston.

It leaves us with a big view of ourself and the ability to start with ourself and stretch to the horizon.

Great narrative. 👍

The quote??? I feel in love with it at first sight, lol.
It does make us to realise the potential in ourselves.
Thanks a lot for popping in.

You are very correct. Realising our potentials in this noisy planet is just like being on the right track of success.

Wow...so deep.
I love this, even though I approached the topic from a different perspective. I must definitely commend this, while still maintaining my stance as well😁.

Knowing oneself definitely makes it easier for one to take charge and stay focused. Meaning, you know when/where to lean on others.

Thanks for sharing.
💯❤️💯

Awwwwwwn 🥰 ... thanks for that

That's just what I thought as well. Independence limits our dependence on others, it doesn't necessarily mean we have to do everything only by ourselves.

Thanks for popping in buddy 😜
