My Special And Favourite Human #LOH274
Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!
This particular blog is so special to me, because it's about a special person (My best friend).
There are some people who walk into your life quietly and end up becoming a very loud part of your happiness. This is one of those stories. A story about meeting someone in school, judging too quickly, learning better, and ending up with a friendship I’m genuinely grateful for.

I met him during that year in school when everything felt routine, classes, lectures, assignments, and the usual faces you see every day. He wasn’t someone I planned to know or even noticed deeply at first. In fact, my first impression of him wasn’t great at all. He always had this attitude in class. He looked unserious sometimes, confident in a way that came off as rude, and he barely seemed to care about what anyone thought. To me, he looked like the typical bully type, the kind of person you’d rather avoid than interact with.
So, naturally, I kept my distance. I had already concluded in my head that he wasn’t my kind of person. I told myself, “That one? Definitely not my friend.” It’s funny how confident we are in our assumptions, even when we barely know people.
But school has a funny way of forcing interactions. Somehow, one random conversation happened. Then another. And slowly, the image I had of him started to crack. He wasn’t what I thought at all. Instead of a bully, I found someone surprisingly interesting. Someone who could talk freely, laugh easily, and actually listen. He had depth. He had sense. And most importantly, he had a heart.
We started talking more often, casual conversations at first. School-related things, random jokes, small talk. Before I knew it, we were communicating properly. We exchanged numbers. Calls started happening. Messages became regular. And just like that, a connection was forming without either of us forcing it.
What surprised me the most was how easy it felt. Talking to him didn’t feel draining or awkward. It felt natural. We understood each other in a way I didn’t expect. He wasn’t just another person I met in school, he stood out. He showed up differently.
As time went on, our friendship grew deeper. We started checking on each other regularly. He would call just to ask how my day was going. Sometimes, he’d randomly reach out to make sure I was okay. Those little things mattered more than he probably knew. It wasn’t just communication; it was care.
On days when I wasn’t okay, those days when everything felt heavy, I knew I could call him. And I did. I could talk freely, complain, laugh, or even stay quiet, and he’d still be there. He became someone I could run to without fear of judgment. Someone who made bad days feel lighter just by listening.
And it wasn’t one-sided. He could also come to me anytime. For help, advice, or just someone to talk to. We became that safe space for each other. That kind of friendship where you don’t keep score. Where you show up because you want to, not because you have to.
At some point, it stopped being a “normal” friendship. It crossed that line into something deeper. We became best friends. The kind of best friends that genuinely care about each other’s wellbeing. The kind that check in, support, and stand by each other without conditions.
On cloudy days, when everything feels heavy and my mood matches the grey sky, he’s the person I call without thinking twice. No matter the time or how I sound on the phone, he’s always there, ready to listen and calm me down. There are moments I call him crying, my voice shaky and my heart full, and somehow, by the end of the call, I’m laughing like nothing ever happened. He has this rare way of turning sadness into lightness, not by forcing it, but by simply being present. His words, his jokes, his patience, everything about him feels comforting.
Honestly, he has been nothing but a blessing in my life, and I don’t take that for granted at all.
Looking back now, I’m honestly so grateful. Grateful that I didn’t let my first impression define everything. Grateful that I gave room for conversation. Grateful that I didn’t walk away just because I thought he was a bully. If I had, I would have missed out on one of the best friendships I’ve ever had.
This experience taught me a powerful lesson, people are more than what they look like on the surface. Attitude doesn’t always mean arrogance. Silence doesn’t always mean wickedness. And confidence doesn’t always mean cruelty. Sometimes, the people we misunderstand the most turn out to be the ones we need the most.
I’m happy he’s in my life. Truly happy. Having someone who checks on you, supports you, and feels like home in human form is not something to take for granted. School gave me lessons, stress, and memories, but it also gave me him. And for that, I’ll always be thankful. Some friendships are accidental. Some are unexpected. And some, like this one, are simply special.
And that's a wrap on today's blog
