Ladies of Hive Community Contest #261 - The gifts of Life

@LadiesofHive Community Contest #258 questions for the week are:

1️⃣ You were offered a job by an overseas firm in a country you've always wanted to visit. However, you cannot take your immediate family (spouse and kids) with you until two years later. Would you grab the opportunity? Share your thoughts, please.

2️⃣ Do you have a negative thought about yourself? What is it, and are you doing something to reframe that and adopt a more positive outlook?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~
3️⃣ Gratitude or gratefulness helps boost our overall well-being. Do you practice a "grateful living" approach? If you do, what are you most thankful for today?

Will I take up an overseas job, leaving my family behind for a long period of time?
My answer is NO, 2 years is a very long time for me, and I would not want to live away from my family. I can give my real-life example, though not exact but something similar. Hubby got a job overseas 10 years back, at that time I had a very good job at a very senior position, and paying also very well. His opportunity was excellent so it was not something we could ignore. First, we decided that he would travel for the job and I would stay behind back home and continue with mine, because in this place it was not easy for females to get a job. So, if I accompanied him, I would be jobless.

After he left within one month only I decided to quit my job and join him, because staying away from him was not an option that was suiting me very well. A lot of people told me that I was doing a foolish thing, of leaving such a good job at hand and going to a place where I may never get one. I quit my job and moved with him to another Country, I did miss my job for a long time, but it was not as much as I missed living without him.

I am very emotional when it comes to family matters and nothing is more important to me then my family. So, even if I would get such an opportunity and I had to leave them behind for a long duration, I would not take it. If it would be for couple of months then I can think about it, but even a year is out of question.

Negative thought about myself - Not really, I have always been in the space of positive thinking and uplifting myself. That does not mean I never have negative thoughts, but there are no such negative patterns that my mind is stuck on to. Honestly, I love myself very much and I accept myself for whatever I am. There are times when I do negative things but then I do have a quick realization and I work it out on it.

Attitude of Gratitude - It is an important aspect of my life. I believe that one must always show gratitude for every single thing that they have in life. I am grateful for everything on a daily basis in my life, my family, friends, the beautiful home that I have, the life that I am living, all the things that I am enjoying in life, it's all to be grateful about. The most I am grateful to the Universe is bringing the right life partner into my life, because without him possibly the life that I am living would have never been possible. For today and forever I am grateful for this beautiful gift that I have in my life.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

For some people, leaving their families behind for a good opportunity overseas won’t be easy for them, especially when they can’t do without each other and it’s understandable.

I love when people can take charge of their positive thoughts and work towards ensuring negative patterns do not have their way. That’s a beautiful thing.

Being grateful for life is one amazing thing we can always do to ourselves and that’s because God has blessed us with wonderful people and things around us.

It is not easy for everyone to take their family along, I had a choice so I could do it, but I know there are many people who are compelled to take up jobs away from home and family.
Thank you

It's truly a tough decision to leave loved ones for a long period of time. If it were a few months, it might be okay. It's awesome that you keep your thoughts in check and avoid negativity from lingering. Being grateful for everything surely brings great benefits.

Thank you. Everything we do it is for family then what is the point being away from them, though I understand some people do not have the liberty to make these choices

The example you give us for not accepting a job far from loved ones is very moving. Having positive thoughts and support from others is wonderful, as is making gratitude a fundamental part of life. Have a lovely night, my friend,

In this matter I feel I am blessed because I had the liberty of taking these decisions at my own will.
