Fond Memories From My Teen Age... [LOH 145]

I've been searching everywhere I had my pictures on so I could share a pic of me when I was Teen, I thought I would have one or two saved somewhere but I didn't find any. So I'm just going to share my memories with you alongside my present picture, not so out of place I guess hehe.

Choosing this topic for my fellow ladies to share theirs was mainly inspired by a thought that came to my mind some days ago. It's amazing how I can still remember a lot of details from when I was 13, or was it 14? It was definitely in my teen age because I can still remember the class I was in back then.

I didn't stay with dad for more than five years but we got back together when I was 12 and I was blessed to live my teen age with dad until I became an adult. While there are still a lot of experience playing out for me as the adult I am now, there were find memories from my teen that I'm happy to share now as it helps me think back to those times and how happily I grew even though mum wasn't around.

In my Teen, I was a happy singer.

My siblings and I got a lot of fans back then in our neighborhood, it was like "Everyone loved us" and we never failed to sing one more song when we are asked to. Those memories keep playing in my head whenever I'm with my siblings and we get to sing again, we even sometimes sing those old songs we loved back then.

I am still a happy singer by the way, especially when I'm singing with my siblings because somehow God blessed the three of us with different voices that blends so well when we join forces, we are a trio with difference and I love the memory of us from my teen.

In my Teen, I was part of a dancing crew.

untitled.gif

It's still unbelievable that I don't dance anymore or maybe I just don't give my body a chance to 😅 I loved dancing a lot when I was a teen, especially with my neighbours kids. We even had a dancing crew that gets invites to go dance in kids birthday parties, we would rehearse anytime and anywhere, it was so fun to do same moves as a crew back then.

And I can still remember we were an all girls dancing crew, I even remember a small detail of how we refused for a boy to be part of us 😅 I also remember when we had to hide away from home to go rehearse in a school environment close to where we live. Those memories coming now is making me smile so happily haha.

In my Teen, I got my first mobile phone.

Dad didn't get me a phone until I was 13 or 14 I think, he saw that I needed one when he started to stay late at work and needed to hear from his children to reduce his worries. I got a phone thanks to that and I can remember calling my dad almost every hour just so I could use the phone, it was the only thing he taught me to use on the phone until my curiousity led me to learn more about the phone.

My first phone was a cheap and limited one but it was expensive and amazing to me back then, I would show it off to my friends even though dad asked me not to take it outside the house 😅 I got more friends because of that phone, I love that memory too.

In my Teen, I travelled alone for the first time.

untitled.gif

Dad or anyone he sent will go with my siblings and I to anywhere far from home but I got the opportunity to travel by myself when I was 17, to see grandma as I was preparing to begin a program that would take me away from home. I had to go meet grandma as she promised some goodies for me to take to school. The journey wasn't a really long one but it was my first.

Surprisingly, I felt nervous at first but began to enjoy the journey. Dad gave me a lot of money in hopes that it would make me to be more careful on my way there, I literally bought anything I saw on the way that day 😂 and I still had extra to give to grandma when I got there.

These and many more memories live rent free in my head and I feel happy just writing about them, my teen age was fun and amazing, I am grateful to that always.

Are you yet to write for the Ladies of Hive contest topics? You're invited to participate by the judge herself hehe, thanks to the community for giving me the opportunity to judge this week's entries and it's been so much fun reading your thoughts and memories on both topics.

Sounds like you had a fun adolescence! I wish I could say the same lol. I'm also impressed that you travelled alone so young. I don't think I travelled alone until I was 18 and went to university.

I used to avoid music from my earlier age let alone singing😅. And in the case of dance, I was never interested in it. I think I never dance anytime as well as I can remember. I feel embarrassed to dance and I think It doesn't go with my personality. I got mobile phone at the age of 15 which was a normal one and I used to play game in the mobile😅.

Haha I guess it really doesn't go with your personality, that's why
I rarely dance now but I did enjoy it a lot while growing up 😅

I didn't have the opportunity of travelling while I was a teen, my dad was the overprotective type and he didn't allow me until I was 20 and it was with my elder brother, I started travelling alone while serving, you must have enjoyed your teen age.

Wow! Amazing teenage life you have.
It's no wonder you're awesome. While I'm so wounded by Dad's drama from my teenage years, I am glad to know that some ladies are so blessed to experience the opposite.😍
