Breast Cancer Awareness [LOH #262]

I don’t know how many times I need to say this, but being a woman is a full-time job. A job without pay, one that must be treated with care or caution or you face the ‘consequences’.

With all the diseases out there, I think at this point women just need to breathe, they need to breathe freely without constantly looking over their shoulders for the next scare that can put their health at risk again.

The month of October is recognized globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. Entering November, did you stop to reflect on your own well being?

By @joanstewart

How ironic it is that I lost a loved one to breast cancer in October, a few days to be precise.

The mortality rate of people living with breast cancer is topping the charts every day. So many women die of breast cancer every day, some as a result of late detection, lack of financial support, inadequate health facilities, fear, and many more.

I lost a wonderful woman to the cold hands of cancer. It’s been six days already, but my brain has refused to register this great loss, nor am I able to refer to her in the past tense.

Realizing that I will never get to see this lady’s face or hear her laugh at my silly jokes is heart-wrenching.

She battled cancer and other illnesses for a while, she was a warrior, the strongest I have ever seen but she left, she left just when she was getting better, and it breaks our hearts that it happened like that.

Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer is a silent killer, claiming the lives of many women. We all need to learn about it because it doesn’t consider age or looks, it can strike at any time.

We need to read more about breast cancer and arm ourselves with all the information out there.

Know what your breasts look like, study the shape, size, and texture, this is to enable you spot any abnormal changes in the future.

Feel your breast for lumps and do it the right way. Remember, not all lumps are cancerous.

Cut down on alcohol and smoking as they increase your risk of having cancer.

Eat healthy, exercise regularly, etc.

Paying attention to our health is very important, as it can reduce the risk of having breast cancer.

No woman needs to lose her breast or life to cancer, so be aware and take good care of yourself.

Starting November, I had so much to think about but none overshadowed the reality of life and death.
Understanding the fickleness of life and how all the things we get worried sick about may not matter at the end.

I’m learning how to be intentional about my happiness, not the temporary dopamine rush but learning to live my life on my personalized clock and not society’s screwed up, double-standard clock.

With everything that has happened in October, I am optimistic about November😃

All images are mine except otherwise stated.

Thanks for stopping by
Loads of Love🥰🥰
XOXO

I'm so sorry about your loss. I hope she finds peace over there.

Cancer is a scary disease, and that of the breast seems to be more rampant. Thanks for the little tips above, may God help us as we help ourselves.

So sorry about the loss of your loved one, please accept my condolences.

Cancer is a silent killer and sometimes a fast one at that. We can always try our best to prevent it and pay attention to our bodies for early detection.

This statement really got to me, life can happen at anytime, it comes like surprise and everyother thing doesn't matter to you again, just a fight to survive.

Cancer is deadly and we ladies need to pay attention to our breast always.

May the soul of the warriors, rest in peace.
