My Favorite Time Of The Day Plus Explaining To My Ten-Year-Old Niece What A Leap Year Is ||| LOH Contest #174
Some of the most beautiful times of the day are sunrise and sunset. We want to know which is your favorite and why. Also, please add a photo you've taken of your favorite one so we can all share in the beauty of it!
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~ 2024 is Leap Year! If you were born on February 29th of a leap year, what do you like or dislike about it? How do you celebrate your birthday? If you weren't, would you want to be? Tell us why you would or would not, and also how you would celebrate it. About the two best time of the day I find the two most beautiful times of the day interesting. The sunrise tells you it is time to rise and shine, grab a cup of tea or cafe, and get ready for the day. Saying it is a brand new day and a great opportunity to do something amazing once again. An opportunity that life gives us another chance to live. Then the sunset comes out in all its glory, beautiful and calming to the eyes, telling us it's time to rest for the day, it is time to reflect on our accomplishment of the day, it is time to be grateful for all the blessings theⁿ day brings and learn from its lessons. I love these two times of the day, however my favorite remains the This is the time I love to take my evening walk if I have free time at hand, the breezes are usually cool this time and the rays from the sunset make the whole environment friendly and beautiful. Among those images from my gallery are the three above. I might not have a shot of the actual sunset but this ray it left behind just before it disappeared into the cloud is always very fascinating to me and I found it beautiful. I could just immerse myself in its beauty, forget my life challenges at the time, and let its magic enrich my soul. Explaining leap year to my ten years old Niece "Aunty, can you explain to me what a leap year means?" Sure, little Pee, that is a fascinating question to ask. And where did you hear the word Leap Year from? "The other day I overheard my teacher talking about leap year to her colleagues and I was confused about it, so I want you to explain it to me." Okay, Little Pee, I will take great pleasure in explaining it to you. A leap year is a special year that has an extra day added to it. This extra day is called a leap day. "Okay Aunty, but Why leap day? Why would they add a special day to the year?" Alright, Let's talk about our home or office calendar. There are various types of month calendars around the world but the commonly used calendar, the Gregorian calendar, consists of 12 months, 52 weeks, and 365 days a year. It takes the Earth to orbit the sun 365 days and 6 hours. You see little Pee, that number of days is not exact, there is an extra 6 hours. So, when we add that extra 6 hours for four years, it gives us a whole day and that is called a Leap day. That extra day is then added to the end of February, so instead of the normal 28th days in February, on lead years, February has 29th days. Leap Year has a special day called Leap Day The leap day is added to the end of February to make it the 29th day. "Oho, now I know what leap year is, thank you, Aunty" , You are welcome, Little Pee "But what if your birthday is on leap day, how will you celebrate it, or feel about it?" Well, if my birthday falls on a leap day, which means I was born on the 29th of February? "Yes Aunty" I might feel weird a little bit because I can only wait every four years to celebrate my actual birthday. You know how much I love my birthday right? In that case, I wouldn't like to be born on a leap day. But in such a case, I'm a leap year baby, I can decide to choose the 28th of February or the 1st of March to celebrate my birthday and then celebrate my actual birthday every leap year. "Okay, Aunty, that is very interesting and logical. " Yes, it is Little Pee, and one more thing, leap year happens every 4 years, with a little exception. "And what exception is that Aunty" Good, there is a rule that says if the year is divided by 100 and not divided by 400, the leap year is skipped. "Wow, that is a little twist, Aunty." Just remember, Little Pee, that a leap year is a special year that has an extra day added to it. And that extra day is added to the end of February, which makes it 29th instead of the usual 28th day. "Thank you very much, Aunty, for your explanation, now I can tell my friends what a leap year is all about" It is my pleasure Little Pee🥰😊. This is my entry into this week's Ladies of hive community contest. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your support, I wish you a very happy leap day in advance😊🥰 All Images are mine
Sunset. It is beautifully calm when the harsh ray of sun throughout the day is gone which allows us to watch and admire its beauty.
Among the things I love about sunset is how the spreading of its rays can create such beautiful patterns of clouds
I have this spot In my former neighborhood, once at sunset I would come out to take some shots of the beautiful clouds caused by the rays from the sunset.
,
Yes, it is. Year 2000 The year is a leap year for example, but the years 1700,1800, and 1900 were not and the next time a leap year will be skipped will be the year 2100.
