Forgiveness; Let It Go And Be Free || LOH Contest #250

I have read quite some entries into this week's Ladies of Hive questions, and it's gladdened my heart to see everyone preaching about forgiveness. Seeing everyone talking about how important it is to cultivate the habit of forgiveness is refreshing.

For someone like me, who valued her peace of mind and liked to keep her conscience clean all the time, forgiving others who wronged me was easy. I do not know how to keep grudges; anything that is not adding positive vibes to me, I let it go as soon as possible. I chose this as a way of life a long time ago.

To be honest, forgiveness is a habit we must learn to cultivate every day of our lives; there are no two ways around this. In as much as we are human, there is no way we won't make mistakes from time to time, and forgiving one another is the way we can always move forward and forge ahead.

At a young age, I have seen the harm that lack of forgiveness can do to someone's peace of mind countless times, and I do not like going down that road.

We should forgive people whether they ask for it or not, whether they deserve it or not; we should forgive not for their sake but for the sake of our peace of mind. We should forgive so that we can truly heal from any pains they cause us.

When we carry such pain with us, we might end up hurting the innocent ones around us. And when we are the one that did something wrong, we should never hesitate to seek forgiveness and make amends.

Forgiving someone does not mean the wrong that has been done to us is okay; it means such wrong does not deserve a free rent space in our mind any longer. When we hold grudges, we give out our power, and forgiveness is getting that power back.

When I forgive someone for their wrongdoing towards me, letting such a person back into my space mostly depends on whether the person realizes their mistakes, asks for forgiveness, and is genuinely ready to change. If not, I can forgive someone and will never give them the chance to come close to me again.

This is simply how I can protect myself from people who are undeserving of my forgiveness, but I still had to forgive them anyways.

"Relax. Don't be hard on yourself; you are living and learning. Forgive yourself and learn from the experience."

Sometimes, the people who we should forgive are not those around us; sometimes, it's ourselves we have to forgive. If we can learn from every experience and forgive ourselves for any mistakes, we can easily move forward, forge ahead, and become a better version of ourselves.

"Life is too short to hold grudges; let it go, smile, and be free."
Yes, it's easier to hold on to the pains they cause, become a prisoner of our own mind or even think of taking revenge, but in doing that we do no one any good, especially not ourselves, so just let it all go and be free.

This is my humble take on this week's Ladies of Hive questions.

Thank you very much for your time and support; do have a great time at your end.

Bye-bye @funshee ❣️😊

The wonders Forgiveness does to the soul hasn’t been talked about enough. Letting go is for no one but us, our heart needs it. Even the Bible points out grudges eat into the body and a major cause of many sicknesses. I do my part to forgive. Forgiveness is a lifestyle that can never be out of style. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you very much,

Yes, God wants us to forgive and love each other. Who am I not to forgive anyway? If God forgives me all the time.

I don’t know how to keep grudges, too. I let go completely for my peace. Even if not for anything, I value my life and wouldn’t want anything to disturb me from enjoying life to the fullest.

Hahaha, it's so true, no one can truly enjoy their lives when holding grudges.
A forgiving heart = a happy, healthy heart.

I agree with you, we all make mistakes, mutual forgiveness is the way to move forward, as you say, forgiving means that the damage no longer deserves space in our minds and it is the best way to recover our power, I love the phrase: "Relax. Don't be hard on yourself; you are living and learning. Forgive yourself and learn from the experience", thanks for sharing your experiences and reflections,

Likeee, life is too short to hold grudges. I too, have never have the strength for malice, let's say I'm too lazy for that. Why let something like a malice destroy your peace, when forgiveness is always an option, no matter the situation. This was such a beautiful writeup, I was smiling the entire time I was reading

Bonita reflexión acabo de leer, y estoy muy en acuerdo, hay que perdonar para librarnos de esa carga, pero no significa que olvidemos, solo dejamos de que nos afecte lo sucedido. Me agrado leerte. Bendiciones

Thank you very much dear @cochanet,🙏🥰 when we forgive, we become free again.

I would love to read your book.

Aww, but I never thought of writing my own book. Maybe someday I will.

it means such wrong does not deserve a free rent space in our mind any longer.

I love how you expressed forgiveness and all it entails. Forgiving someone for the hurt and wrong they caused you brings an inner peace our mind definitely needs and makes way for positive vibes and emotions.
But holding a grudge however is more like handing out a rent free space for the deeds of your offender to dwell in.

Yes, yes, no time to be hating on anyone when we have plenty of people to spend our energy loving them. !LADY

An interesting analogy, "a prison of our own mind..."
I've though of that as more like shackles that binds together both offender and victim.

I was struck by how naturally forgiveness flows for you, it’s not just a choice but a way of living. Letting go of grudges so freely speaks to such a grounded, peaceful spirit. I love how you reminded us that forgiveness doesn’t mean the hurt was okay, it means we are refusing to rent it space in our minds any longer. You named something deeply true when we forgive, we reclaim our power, yes but we also protect our peace. And that bit about forgiving ourselves, that’s gentle wisdom I needed today.

Hi there, I'm glad you agree with my point on forgiveness.
Yes, there is nothing that worth our peace of mind, and forgiving others who wrong us or ourselves when we make mistakes is how we can move forward and retain our peace.
