In January 2022, It was a day after our visit to the hospital to confirm that I was pregnant with our son. That evening after dinner, hubby said, I got something for you and I hope that you will like it
As he reached out for his pocket at first I was curious of what that might be and after a few seconds he handed over this watch to me.
And he proceeds to say, this is not just a gift of a watch but a symbol of our family's timeless love. As long as there is time I will continue to love and cherish you and our baby or babies🥰.
Okay, I was already over the moon for the news of our little angel and receiving such a gift on that very important moment was everything..
You see, that is one special gift I will cherish until tomorrow. It is not just a watch but it represents a special bond, our time together and our future.
It was given to him by his mom on the day he was leaving home for his national youth service, a one year mandatory service for every graduating youth in Nigeria. It was given to him then because of how proud of him she was and as a reminder of her love for him.
This morning, I put it on our son's hand and I think it looks great on him hehehe. Who knows it might become his, someday when he made us proud. As it is a unisex watch. And that is if it still going to size him when he grows up.
Hubby is a keeper to still have it all this year, not just that, the packing nylon is still intact like it was when new.
He told me that he always kept it in his belongings, he uses it occasionally when going somewhere very important. And he has kept it so well and had always thought of gifting it to me ever since we met.
Personally, it is not a gift but the thought behind it and what it represents that counts. And also I love the watch, it is my favorite color and it fits perfectly on my hand.
