The Silent Strength of a Woman

No one really talks about women being multitaskers, most importantly “unpaid” multitaskers.
I happened to stay home today, still exhausted from the previous day. I had finished my chores and went outside to read a book just at the sitout. I couldn't mind my business as much as I tried to, my brain kept speaking loudly disrupting my focus from my book to my far but not so far neighbor, a nursing mother of twin boys. She was obviously late for work evidenced by her haste in trying to pack her babies bags into the car. I just kept wondering, "it's not even been a year since she gave birth and she's already going back to work with twins??"

I couldn't really blame her, I blame the system, the private sector precisely. They don't give mothers the full time maternity leave they need. I feel an exception should have been made to a mother of twins whose husband is not steadily available. He works offshore, two weeks at home, two weeks at work.

She hurriedly packed her things in the car and put the kids behind in their own special baby car seat on the passengers seat then zoomed off as early as 7:45 in the morning.
I queried within me, did she even get enough sleep last night with the kids?
How did she get up strong and agile ready for a new day after two babies suckled her through the night with her alone in the house. I just said a silent prayer asking for grace and strength upon her.
I wondered how she was going to offload all her bags plus the kids into the office, maybe her colleagues would help, I mean who doesn't love babies, pretty little cuties. I then returned to reading my book when she was gone.

I heard her car return at about 6pm then went out to help her. Of course as expected, she looked exhausted and spent. Surprisingly, the babies were asleep. I wondered how she did the magic . I helped her carry the sleeping children into her house - oh what a beautiful sight to watch them sleep so calmly having to worry about nothing. That's the perks of being a baby, no responsibilities, just eating and sleeping. She expressed gratitude for helping her pack in and I left after a light casual chat. I was curious why she didn't have a maid but we weren't close so I minded my business this time.

The rest of the time, I just couldn't stop pondering on women's super power. White collar job women, business women go out to make money to support their homes then still return to be the mother, sister, wife, friend, comfort zone and happy place to everyone in the home. Most times denying herself comfort and her needs just to be there for others and make sure they're comfortable.
Amidst her personal and inner battles, she's never tired of giving a listening ear. Nurturing with love and tenderness, she knows just about the right words to say in every situation to calm your nerves. She has the right antidote for every problem. Even with their busy schedule and full hands, they find time to pray at night when everywhere is calm.
My question, when exactly do they take a break?
An octopus has eight hands, women have eight hands too, maybe more but just two are visible and they're capable of swinging all eight in two hands into action just about the same time hence their ambidextrous nature. It just occurs naturally in females. Notice how sweet a baby girl child is to her other siblings. The motherly nature is inborn, a natural potential embedded in her that she exercises by reflex.

A shout out to every woman and mother for their sacrifices making the world a better place!

This is such a beautiful lesson in being observant, having empathy, and helping others! Raising twins while her husband is away on business is definitely a difficult situation, and it was so kind of you to think of her and extend a helping hand! This is a wonderful post celebrating the power of women! Kudos! 😊

Seeing that mother managing twins, rushing off to work while running on pure grit, wow 😳 And you, noticing it, stepping in just to offer a helping hand after a long day, that is subtle strength and sisterhood in action. Women doing this kind of emotional and physical juggling every single day, it is that silent muscle that holds so much together. And that line When exactly do they take a break? yeah, I am asking that, too.

More grace to motherhood, their sacrifice should be echoed enough and not taken for granted.
