We often reflect on what we have achieved; how will you use this knowledge to keep moving forward?

These are very difficult times for all of us Cubans who still inhabit our geography. So much so that at times it seems like there is no hope, that no progress can be made, that everything will remain undone, unfinished.

There are days when I lack the strength to defend my dreams in the face of the devastating advance of everyday life, of brutal reality.

That's why I almost didn't participate this time. When asked "how do we keep moving forward," I froze, all I could see was the wall. Then my 12-year-old daughter told me, "Calm down, Mom, you always figure it out".

That's when I realized that my victories up to this point had never come easily; each one involved a struggle, a challenge, adverse conditions, and opposing opinions. It was never about racing toward the goal, but about fighting against everything and everyone until I achieved it. I haven't been an athlete, I've been a warrior.

Through sheer willpower, I studied from secondary school to university, under extremely poor economic conditions that made dressing, traveling, and even eating a miracle.

Amid much opposition from some members of my maternal family, I had my eldest daughter; the youngest arrived after a miscarriage and nine months of bed rest, with the constant risk of losing her. Both labors were long and jeopardized their lives and mine.

My marriage has also cost me, as the saying goes, "blood, sweat, and tears".

My long-awaited home, which I still work on, was built from the ground up through sheer effort, sacrifice, and "taking one saint to pay another", as they say in these lands.

Professionally, it hasn't been easy either. I've truly loved my professions; it was very difficult to give up the theater and my work at the publishing house, both due to a lack of my own home and the subsequent, mandatory move. I left radio because of my faith and the intolerance and ignorance of the local power circles.

Even in my faith, I've been tested and tried, immersed in so many spiritual processes in which I've failed sometimes, defeated others, but here I am, trying to be and do the best I'm capable of.

Nothing was given to me, but what I've achieved gives me infinite satisfaction. I want more, and now, trying to share myself with you, I've remembered how to do it.

Plan, prioritize, organize. Take a deep breath, trust in God and in myself, and take the first step. Each day is a first step, and I'll get where I need to go.

I will finish building my home; I will continue raising my wonderful daughters to be courageous and useful women; I will strengthen my marriage every day with love and experience; I will guide others to draw closer to God as I have been guided, and I will care for those already entrusted to my leadership. Thus, I will continue moving forward.

And amidst so many goals is my Hive path. I discovered it only three months ago, but I have fallen in love with its steps.

-Dare.
-Explore new challenges based on the knowledge I possess and what I can continue to acquire.
-Support others.
-Give thanks and reciprocate for all the help received.
-Observe and learn, learn, learn.

That will be my strategy to strengthen my footing in this wonderful world. I would appreciate any additional advice you can give me.

A menudo reflexionamos sobre lo que hemos logrado; ¿cómo usarás este conocimiento para seguir avanzando?

Estos son momentos muy difíciles para todos los cubanos que aún habitamos nuestra geografía. Tanto así que por momentos pareciera que no hay esperanzas, que no se consigue avanzar, que todo se quedará por hacer, sin terminar.

Hay días en que me faltan las fuerzas para defender mis sueños ante el avance devastador de la cotidianidad, de la realidad brutal.

Por esa razón casi no participo esta vez. Ante la pregunta de "cómo seguir avanzando" me congelé, solo veía el muro. Entonces mi niña de 12 años me dijo "tranquila, mamá, tú siempre lo resuelves"

Ahí me di cuenta de que mis victorias hasta este momento nunca se me dieron de manera fácil, cada una llevó una lucha, un desafío, condiciones adversas, opiniones contrarias. Nunca fue correr hacia la meta, sino bregar contra todo y todos hasta lograrlo. No he sido una deportista, he sido una guerrera.

A fuerza de voluntad estudié desde la enseñanza Secundaria hasta graduarme en la Universidad con condiciones económicas paupérrimas que convertían en milagro el vestir, el viajar y aún el comer.

Con muchísima oposición de algunos miembros de mi familia materna tuve a mi hija mayor; la menor llegó luego de un aborto espontáneo y nueve meses de reposo con riesgo constante de perderla. Ambos partos largos y comprometiendo sus vidas y la mía.

Mi matrimonio también me ha costado, al decir de la voz popular, "sangre, sudor y lágrimas".

Mi anhelada casa, en la que aún sigo trabajando, se ha levantado desde sus mismos cimientos a golpe de echarle ganas, de hacer sacrificios, de "desvestir a un santo para vestir a otro" como se acostumbra decir por estas tierras.

En el plano profesional tampoco ha resultado fácil. Realmente he amado mis profesiones; fue muy dificil renunciar al teatro y a la labor en la editorial, en ambos casos por falta de vivienda propia y la consiguiente y obligatoria mudanza. De la radio me despedí a causa de mi fe y la intolerancia-ignorancia de los círculos de poder locales.

Incluso en mi fe he sido probada y probada, metida en tantos procesos espirituales en los que he fallado unas veces, vencido otras pero aquí sigo intentando ser y hacer lo mejor de lo que soy capaz.

Nada se me regaló, pero lo que he conquistado me produce una satisfacción infinita, quiero más y ahora, intentando compartirme con ustedes, recordé cómo hacerlo.

Planificar, priorizar, organizar. Respirar hondo, confiar en Dios y en mí y salir a dar el primer paso. Cada día un primer paso y llegaré a donde deba llegar.

Voy a terminar la construcción de mi vivienda; seguiré educando a mis maravillosas hijas para ser mujeres valientes y de provecho; consolidaré cada día mi matrimonio con amor y experiencia; guiaré a otros a acercarse a Dios así como yo he sido guíada y cuidaré de los que ya han sido confiados a mi liderazgo. Así seguiré avanzando.

Y en medio de tantas metas está mi Hive camino. Lo descubrí hace solo tres meses pero me he enamorado de sus pasos.

-Atreverme.
-Explorar nuevos retos a partir de los conocimientos que poseo y los que puedo seguir adquiriendo.
-Apoyar a otros.
-Agradecer y corresponder toda la ayuda recibida.
-Observar y aprender, aprender, aprender.

Esa será mi estrategia para afirmar mis pasos en este mundo maravilloso. Agradecería cualquier consejo extra que puedan darme.
