First of all, there is no emoji that represents two patents and three kids 😂 Oh well. Last week was a special public holiday for us in South Africa and we got to do something super special together as a family!

@zakludick, @aimeludick, @merenludick, and @matthew-williams and I all piled into the car to go support the fantastic children of the Cape Flats Wellness Centre Choir at their first-ever concert!

Of course, the kids and I have had plenty of practice singing Pink's "Cover me In Sushine" around the fire on most weekends, so I thought it would be great for them to add their voices to the performance.

It was also sneaky of me as a parenting exercise, where I got to show them how lucky they are in comparison to other kids. They're all reaching the stage where they compare themselves and their circumstances to their friends and inevitably end up feeling like they're not good enough or they don't have as much as so-and-so.

Watching these kids sing their hearts out was an incredible awakening for me, as well as the kids. Life may not be easy, but it is so full of blessings.

We have eachother, we have a comfortable car that took us all the way there, we were able to stop off at a gorgeous farm stall and spend some time there looking at goats and cows and all kinds of interesting things...

And someone left me alone and unsupervised in the bakery!! I am not responsible for the brownies or the Sour Dough loaf that came home with us (WHICH WERE BOTH DELICIOUS).

I swear these goats looked like they were plotting something!! Perhaps they busted me with my special bread and my brownies!!

Anyway, back to the Human Rights Day Vision 24 Concert, they had a multitude of charities show up and it was well supported by the local community. Matthew and Meren even got to spend some quality time with these little fur balls from a local animal rescue center. I was tempted to offer a trade I'M JOKING 😂😜😂😜

Mostly, the day taught us to be grateful for each other and made us realize that it had been way too long since we did something special as a family.

I love the funny faces at the end. And was that a bottle of beer or malt? Looks like malt to me but can’t tell. There’s always something to see on the road and with family.

ooooooh no a bottle of wine!! Blanc De Noir, so pink wine :) yes it was lovely great family outing but four hours in the car with the kids definitely warranted the wine after lol!!

Wonderful to go out as a family and enjoy everything. The trail, the animals and finally the choir.
